Well, where to start. Obviously I'm removing myself from the league for now as I've given up the Cardinals and have stepped down from commishing.
The reasons are pretty simple, for one I just don't enjoy the game as much anymore, that in itself is a combination of not knowing what to do and not wanting to put in the time to figure it out. But that's secondary really. The main reason is I'm just burnt out. In some capacity or another I've been helping run the league for it's entire existence and I was and am just tired of it. Once the game started to lose it's fun for me it got harder and harder to get excited about the week to week upkeep and everything involved with simming etc..
At the beginning of the season Matt agreed to take over the commish duties fully and I would just concentrate on my team so I could try and get the spark back, but it never came. In fact I did the Cardinals a real disservice this year as after week 4 or 5 I barely checked the team. Once we got near the end of the season I knew I was done.
I am so so pleased to see Jave and R00k step up and I know that the league is good hands with Matt no matter who or how the leadership structure gets set up.
It's kind of weird to get emotional about a computer football league but I want to say that I honestly dig everyone who is in or has been in the league and whom I've formed quasi relationships over the years. I know we're not "friends" in the truest sense of the word but guys like Jave, Vito, Coder, Kobeck, Steve, Jester, Matt, all of you, I'm not gonna sit here and try and make sure I remember everyones name, lol, but it's been you guys who have made this experience something that's more than just playing a game. And for that I sincerely thank you. I plan on hanging around, even though I wont have anything to do I'm still looking forward to the draft, chat, yelling.
