  • So Yeah

Well, where to start. Obviously I'm removing myself from the league for now as I've given up the Cardinals and have stepped down from commishing.

The reasons are pretty simple, for one I just don't enjoy the game as much anymore, that in itself is a combination of not knowing what to do and not wanting to put in the time to figure it out. But that's secondary really. The main reason is I'm just burnt out. In some capacity or another I've been helping run the league for it's entire existence and I was and am just tired of it. Once the game started to lose it's fun for me it got harder and harder to get excited about the week to week upkeep and everything involved with simming etc..

At the beginning of the season Matt agreed to take over the commish duties fully and I would just concentrate on my team so I could try and get the spark back, but it never came. In fact I did the Cardinals a real disservice this year as after week 4 or 5 I barely checked the team. Once we got near the end of the season I knew I was done.

I am so so pleased to see Jave and R00k step up and I know that the league is good hands with Matt no matter who or how the leadership structure gets set up.

It's kind of weird to get emotional about a computer football league but I want to say that I honestly dig everyone who is in or has been in the league and whom I've formed quasi relationships over the years. I know we're not "friends" in the truest sense of the word but guys like Jave, Vito, Coder, Kobeck, Steve, Jester, Matt, all of you, I'm not gonna sit here and try and make sure I remember everyones name, lol, but it's been you guys who have made this experience something that's more than just playing a game. And for that I sincerely thank you. I plan on hanging around, even though I wont have anything to do I'm still looking forward to the draft, chat, yelling.
    I luv British womenz.

Yea I've burned out a couple times. It's easier for the guys who understand the game better to enjoy it because, well, they are winning and it's sure as hell easier to have fun when your in the playoffs 8 out of 10 seasons haha. The draft is a frikkin blast though. I've always enjoyed drafting and the other owners make it entertaining as well. Even DG, who's a douchebag, at least he's super active during the offseason.

It's a bummer to see ya go, and like others, this may be the beginning of the end. First Cring, then Jeff, now you. It sucks to see the old timers go. I even find it odder that Cring hasn't ever returned...at least that I know of. I just couldn't let this league go, even when I was retired. Even if I didn't say anything I would check in, 10am every Sunday haha. I watched the draft and followed the forums. Hope you do the same man. Get your mojo back and hopefully you will return. So I won't say goodbye, I will say, enjoy the break, You sure as shit earned it

This is sad. I understand where you're coming from, but it's still sad. There's no doubt the league lights up during the draft and it's comforting to hear you'll hang around then and show up in the chatroom. Maybe that will re-kindle your interest once that time comes around.

Yeah I've been thinking of hanging it up also. If you have 3/4 wrs, with a good+ qb in the current state you can be downright deadly. The only thing bringing me back is that my offense was somewhat exciting to watch. We kicked too many Fgs but we could move the ball. Once Jacobs retires we could be in trouble. We will struggle unless we can go back to being a running team. Also the draft is exciting so thats another reason to stick around. GL...maybe you will come back when FOF 2014 comes out. Hahahaha A new more complex game could do wonders!

You're a bitch! Just when we start getting the band back together with Kobeck re-joining Murf, you bail. Typical Cards move.

JK, I almost quit as well and then I told my gf and she was like 'what? The thing you've been in for like 8 years now?'. It's hard to remain interested in the game, very hard, but realizing I still get all worked up on Sundays when my team has a chance made me realize that I do still have a little fire left.

It's sad yours ran out, but I completely understand. Take care man

I understand...I'm in the low ebb of excitement too, and I just won the GEFL2 championship. But, I'm sticking around FOF and the Imperial to see if I can get LA past the mediocrity we're mired in.

              Good luck Sui...

My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.
