IFL stats on demand

Guys,

I'm trying to learn some mysql/php and I thought it might be cool to learn using IFL stats.
I've started a webpage that has individual stats. I only have the 2023 data in there right now, not sure how to get previous year's data.
It's a work in progress, not sure how much time I'll have to work on it going forward. I guess my ultimate goal would be to make a stat site like Ben's - not sure if I'll ever get there.

Please let me know if you notice any issues/bugs. It uses some css that might not work well with older browsers, but it seems to display fine with the ones I use (Chrome, FF and IE).

Not sure why i chose stats on demand as the title, I think I heard that somewhere.

When I changed the pass yards drop down box to pass attempts and hit submot, the stats come up (PAs) but the drop down box reverts back to pass yards.

the problem with Ben's stat site is that I can't fix it. I'm sure when Ben thought about sharing his stuff, he didn't think it would be so much work. then you have guys like me who bug him trying to get it fixed. I've offered money and paid a couple of hundred dollars, but with him not in our league there's no hook forcing him to fix anything. Again, I don't blame the guy at all. I can't say that I would be much differernt.

you can get all the data you need using gstelmack's interogator utility. in fact, i have the data for 2021 here http://files.imperialfl.us/Imperial%202021.zip
outside of this, I don't know much else except that I used dbupdater to update the utility.

Years ago, one of the original owners (roadrash) along with help from others, built our own stat site. problem was that right after they did that, 2k7 came out and basically would have had to start at nothing again.

I'm all in for you doing whatever you can. this shit is way over my head

Thanks Matt. I'm also using dbupdater. I had 2020,2021 and 2022 eos season files saved so they were easy to upload using dbupdater. The problem -which I guess is the same thing you ran into - is that something is corrupt in the 2022 eos file - so much of the stats are missing. Not sure how to troubleshoot, I'll ask over in FOFC.

I don't know if just importing each .csv file separately will work correctly-but I'll give it a try. Meanwhile, has anyone saved EOS files before 2020? That might be the easiest/best option to populate the db.

Just a quick update: I haven't given up on making a "new" IFL stat site at:
www.dryline.org/ifl

Progress has been painfully slow, but I try to update it each week and have made some additions. For the top 10 defensive performances I've been playing around with a formula - not sure what Ben's is, but there's no perfect way to do it I suppose. The Box and Log score links just go to the Solecismic html, those boxes/logs look fine to me, I don't see a need to recreate them.

Anyway, I can't promise that progress will pick up anytime soon, but I'll keep plugging away. if anyone has any ideas they want to me to implement or if you have some code of your own you would like to include - please let me know. Player cards will be a big task - not sure just how to approach it yet....other than mimicking Ben's.
