Haven't been so back and forth with a decision in all of my IFL history. Good news is that I've got at least 2 quality DLinemen and 2 quality LBs so I should be OK no matter which direction I go. I was certain I was going 34 yesterday. Now I'm thinking of just running a 4-3 as always.

I'll likely be running both a 4-3 and a 3-4 this year, depending on which team I play.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostHaven't been so back and forth with a decision in all of my IFL history. not a 4-3 SME, sorryOriginally posted by Beeznik View PostSo, is he rushing in the dime in the 4-3 defense too then? Because both the 3-4 and the 4-3 have 3 man fronts in the dime defense.

Do have double personnel (some DTs, some NTs, etc..) or just play defenders out of position for one of the sets?Originally posted by Beeznik View PostI'll likely be running both a 4-3 and a 3-4 this year, depending on which team I play.

I've ran a 3-4 for awhile now. I switched because the mostly everyone was running a 4-3 at the time and them big boys on the DL were getting hard to acquire. I like the LB's we have and the depth is getting good too.
I was hooked on the 3-4 when Kollars was dominating for a few seasons. I just prefer this defense now because not many ppl run it and it leaves a whole pool of certain guys available for me to acquire where others will look for other positions.
We brought in Dustin Edwards from LRK to play the weakside with his freakish sack totals. That is McCarthy's spot but he will move around between the Sam and Will this year. Just wanted to see what both of these guys could do together on the field at the same time. Should be interesting!2003,2004,2007,2008,2010,2013,2024,2025,2031,2037, 2038 and 2039 NC North Division Champions, 2012 and 2017 Wild Card

Interesting. I stayed with 4-3 because I've always felt that DTs fell in the draft. I'm willing to pay high 1sts for DEs so that never bothered me but felt the quality LBs always went about a 1/2 round higher than I'd have like to take them.
HORSE was amazing. Now you got the next one? I didn't notice the pick-up of Edwards. Was that an AI Free Agent move on LRKs part?
Anyone ever have a great blitzer at SILB? I'm wondering if he'll get slowed up FOF-coding-wise by the OLine or if the inside LBs sometimes get a clear shot at the QBs.

Most of the DT and LBs can play the 3-4 positions without losing any ratings, so that's what I will likely do. I haven't tried this before, so we'll see. Gonna see how it goes in the PS.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostDo have double personnel (some DTs, some NTs, etc..) or just play defenders out of position for one of the sets?

I've always been curious what would happen if you got some nice pass rushers at ILB and SLB and blitzed them a lot. In my other league, I had some decent ones and blitzed 50-60% of the time. I gave up a lot of YPC but the defense was very solid and the opposing QBs had low completion % because he was always being pressure. Would be interesting to see a stud ILB pass rusher with a couple of stud OLB pass rushers attack the QB like this.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostInteresting. Yeah, Edwards was a FA. Though he doesn't have a real good rating I was surprised he didn't receive a lot of offers. I think PENN was my only real competition for him. I'm glad he signed with us.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostInteresting. I stayed with 4-3 because I've always felt that DTs fell in the draft.
