How does Ray Nixon not get player of the week? 17 for 143 with 2 TD's and 4 catches for 34 yards. Always the brides maid...

Good game Portland. Especially your defense, I couldn't get any traction running or passing.

        GG SLC.

In rebuilding my offensive gameplans, I've tried to add a new wrinkle this week to keep defenses honest. We're a run team, first. But with a qb like Barlow, we need to use the run to set up the pass, and to at least have the ability to hit the long ball every now and then to keep defenses from putting eight men in the box. This gameplan showed a lot of promise, and I think we'll keep tweaking it this season. Of course you need the wideouts to do that, and we have a few good ones now. Not great, good.

We're not abandoning the run game, or the high percentage short passing game.. we just need that new wrinkle.

Wow!! When we were throwing the ball up by 17 I wondered "Are you trying to find a way to lose this game?"... as it continued I knew the answer... when we were only up by 6 with about 4 minutes left I was thinking "This game would already be over if we simply ran when we should have ran"... when we lost 28-27 in the final minutes... well it just happened and I'm in shock.

GG DThompson, way to hang in there for the Win.

Wow, what a difference a week makes. Last week we set the world on fire, this week we looked like a Pop Warner team.

            GG Cy ...

Not really a big surprise as I knew this team was going to provide a roller coaster season with it ups and downs ...

GG, Tarcone. Our running game continues to be surprisingly productive, but man did you shut down our short passing game. 7-for-17 for 54 yards and a bad pick on short passes and screens isn't going to get it done. I probably tried to push the ball down the field a little too much as well, so I'll have to scale that back next week.

We also picked up another key OL injury with four-time All-Pro guard Brian Sweeney out for the year with a torn triceps. Should be another tough one against St. Louis next week.

                Oh Crap!
We needed to beat the Toads badly but we weren't nearly good enough.
Our D did all they could (especially in the 2nd half) and we generally had good field position but Ouellette is having a slow start to the season and we struggled.
We're in a hole now and still two more road games to come.
GG DDT, the Toads put up enough points and stopped us dead in the redzone.

                  GG. It was a nail-biter.

The defense has been a pleasant surprise this season. I'm hoping the addition of Garrod has made a solid unit a very good one. The offense is far from high-octane thus far, though.

I also need to figure out why I got abused so badly on special teams.

We avoided the mistakes this game and had a solid all around game. Crapo had another big game and seems to be hitting his stride well. GG Chris.
