2022 Week #1 Discussion

a big thanks to Ben that got us back up this morning.
GOing to need to do a manual update to the db for last season, but we're golden for this year.

This team is going to piss me off this year, thanks to cohesion. We had 5 freaking fumbles and lost 3 of them. Tulsa had an average starting field position at their 37 yard line. Still, we won. Our offense ran like crazy and Troutman had a solid game. Crapo had his biggest game yet and looks primed to take over where Brad Harris left off.

Cohesion will be #1 next offseason.

Going to be a long season in Tulsa I think.

Wow, we had a exciting game in Anchorage. Had a chance as Jacobs led us down the field for the winning score but two drops did us in at the 2 yd line. Little "stupid" penalties and drops did us in...both teams actually hahaha the biggest penalty was the unnecessary roughness that led to Fresno's winning score. All in all, I liked how we looked especially on defense...except on the drive that Fresno took the lead. lol

We gave up some big runs in the 2nd half, gotta correct that. I should of known Fresno would come out and run more. We had 18 rushing attempts so we gotta try to run some more also...

You dominated us in the first half, running 47 plays to our 12 and making our defense look about like I was afraid they would. Fortunately, we were able to hang tight at the right moments, get a big fumble return to stay in it and put together a few drives in the second half.

We took some short-term injury hits on the offensive line, but are glad to start off with a road upset over a division rival.

Warthog D tightend up in the Blue zone forcing the Lynx to kick FGs. Only TD of the game was the difference.

For once Fresno dont totally melt down at the end of a game as Anchorage got close but could not put it away.


FWIW first game I have 'watched' since 2020. Totally disenchanted with the game last season. But Fresno had a decent offseason and Schwartz finally learned another formation so the O has at least a little more variety.

Not your best week, Matt. Newark's next game will be interesting in finding out how the 2022 squad will perform.
