EXTRACTOR QUESTION

I flubbed up the post on the Fof forum and to be frank, I don't understand half of what they say when it comes to .csv text and computer jargon, so..my question is this...

when I open Extender , I go to file and it asks me for a fof game to open, but the box is empty...

I have the game open...

are there step by step instructions on how to get this thing to work...I've spent two days reading through the three thousand pages on fof that covers the Stelmack utility...and I need a Stelmack For Dummies set of instructions...

they are not referring to the actual FOF game. it's referring to what game data it needs to pull from.
If the list is blank, you need to click your check paths app. something is missing, and it's most likely the location of the program files game file

it will be the "install path" being blank
you will need to create a txt file in the \documents\stelmacksof\utility suite folder

once in this location, right click and select new->text document
find the location of your game file in the "program files" directory

copy and paste the location into the txt file

next, find the location of the location of the game in the app data folder

copy and paste the location into the txt file.

mine looks like this

C:\Program Files (x86)\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007
C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Roaming\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007

it should look like this

the key to this is.....


when creating the text file. Just name it FOFPath

DO NOT PUT .txt on the end.

I did this and couldn't figure out how to get it to work. It was because my filename was FOFPath.txt.txt!!

After you create this file.
Pull up the Path checker. This should show all the info now.

now when you go to utilitysuites various apps, you will see all the different "leagues" you have saved on your cpu.

Sounds like some of us are basically playing with only half the game (FOF and none of the extras) at this point. "Utilitysuites various apps"?!?!??

the various apps are....
check paths - made to make sure some of the apps find the game to pull data from
city editor - edits city data
db updater - updates fancy sites like the one we use
draft analyzer - used for organizing and drafts. spits out various key info for draft time. ONE OF THE KEY APPS TO HELP WITH THE DRAFT
draft recorder - godsend to most "normal" people. once the game is in "draft stage", you can click the button and this app puts all the draftees on the right teams in order. Suicane likes you guys and does it manually. FYI, if I ever do the draft, you'll all be waiting until we are done before a file is released because I'll be using the draft recorder
extender - spits out nice award type things. Similar to what we have on our stat site. still needs some work with csv file to get images to work
extractor - pulls data from player cards. it's what pulls draft classes as well to import into draft analyzer.
Game Plan Analyzer - new addition.....this is amazing. It will tell you everythign you need to know about what you're doing, how successful you are doing it........and same for every other team in the league. ONE OF THE KEY APPS
Interrogator - needed to pull all league specific info out of the game. Needed to make ben and other's sites work
Maddenator - exports rosters into madden. i've never used it, but I think it works well
resource patcher - patches the ugly ingame graphics with something more pretty

if you're not a league commish, the best parts of the utility suite are
draft analyzer
gameplan analyzer
extender
resource patcher
and probably maddenator.............but I'm not sure because I've never used it

I stand corrected. Some of us only have 10% of the game.

The 2 analyzers sound scary to someone in the competition not using them.

well...checkpath worked, but still not getting Extender to recognize the leagues...hmmmm
