  • OH HARTFORD!!!!

I heard it through the grapevine that you're trying to figure out a way to stop what's coming your way (that one-man weapon named James Tart) and I want to wish you good luck with that. There is a GM who taught me a little something about stopping the run last year---and I saved the gameplan

I mean, I had to study it to know HOW to beat it :0) James promises that this won't hurt AS LONG as you LUBE UP before we unhitch the horse trailers.

Sorry about being tight-lipped my computer at home was out of commission with a fried power supply got that fixed on Saturday.

I figured out how to play Run-D, now I just need to figure out my Pass-D. Damn, I knew you were going to throw more than run, but crap, my Pass-D has gone in the tank this year.

Actually, I decided not to test your front-seven outright and went with a balanced attack. Looks like you played to double Gomez and stuff James on FIRST down which left Mertz in man coverage and options underneath to Tart and Key if I passed---so I did. We ran well late.

          Tart

          Rushing:
          14/ 47 1 TD
          Receiving:
          5/48 1 TD

19 touches for 95 Yards and 2 TDs

But that 14/47 is 3.35 YPC. I'd say that I limited him in that regard. Without looking at the log, I was supposed to play zone, BUT I was blitzing with multiple players out of the zone. Which means that short zones will open up as the LBs will be blitzing. Big error on my part, because I thought I would get eaten up if I went to M2M coverage.

My problem with your gameplan was I had NO idea what you would do on 2nd down. On first down, I knew what you planned, but did not want to sell completely out against that, and figured that I would be safer (as I was last year) by playing the run more, and relying a bit more on my secondary's talent.

My big problem is on offense. If my offense was on the field more, my defense would have some better numbers...

We did play last year didn't we? I couldn't recall if we had or not. Maybe next time heh?

I'm really excited about Newark, because I see some matchups I want to try and take advantage of against them. 99 pass attempts in 2 games---man I can't wait to see this one

Ahhh this is going to be good. Unfortunately, I'm on the road again and you have the advantage but I think I can do 275 easy---winning is a whole 'nother story tho' You do have a solid D.

I will caution you tho. I don't think that chuck-and-pray offense is going to be a good idea against this scheme---I mean, maybe it'll work out BUT you've yet to see the LBs my Stallions are coming with. They are the BEST unit in the game (on paper) and pass rushing is their speciality

Oh and I know you want me to actually read that and be baited into throwing it at you---relax, I'm going to attack you exactly where I want to---that gameplan against Hartford was no mistake. I studied him and watched his posts on Front Office Football Central and figured he'd never see the trickery coming.

James Tart gives you that option brother---do you put 8 in the box and leave Mertz and Gomez in man-to-man coverage with a QB like Booker throwing it?

Or will you play to shut down the air strike and force your front seven to deal with Tart

Jeff cautioned you guys---Tart has not been shutdown, the offense has been opened up. Tart will get fed the rock well at some point in the very near future and to date (knock on wood), when I feed him the ball he comes up big.

                  I love that guy

Be interesting to see this one play out. I thought my very solid secondary in Wichita could stop the air attack. Just contained it some. Curious to see if you can. I knew it was coming and i thought i schemed to stop it.

                      Hmmm

I can't figure it out---I have the "worst D-line in the IFL" yet Reno and Hartford decided to air it out against me which actually plays to my pass rush and corners. Go figure???
