GG Chris. Obviously we caught a big break to play y'all without Cote. I thought it would be a defensive game and I was a bit surprised we weren't able to get to Covington more and get some sacks/picks. Credit to your O-line and game plan. Covington lead a great 99 yd drive at the end of the 1st half. Our running game was just pathetic, but Scott was able to pick up the slack (at times).

Stephenson thanks you for the shout out. Good week for the NC West with top performers - just needed to get Reno in there.

Today they were very cold, let's hope they'll find some consistency and perform better the rest of the season.

Madison opened game with a nice return too midfield, but the Warthogs held too a 3 and out. Fresno goes backwards on its first drive. Deamons get some home cooking on an illegal contact call to move the ball too midfield and extend their second drive. Warthogs hold but Madison gets a great punt and Fresno takes over at the 3 on their second drive. still 0-0 mid 1Q
Fresno gets off the goalline but drive stalls. Deamon ball at their 24 and go 3 and out. Fresno takes over at their 36 and a couple of nice Schwartz passes gets the Warthogs into Madison territory for the first time. And the most careful QB in the IFL throws his 5th pick in 5 quarters too end the scoreless 1Q.
Madison got into Warthog territory and then Irby threw a pick giving Fresno the ball at their 35. Nice Johnstone run and Buerfeind catch gets the ball to Deamon 41. Couple of runs sets up 3rd and 3 and Schwartz hits Buerfiend for 10 against Deamon pass D. The Madison home cooking continues as a hold negates the Warthogs first Blue Zone penetration of the game setting up 1st and 20 from the 34. Schwartz hit Hodel to set up 3rd and 1 from the 15 and Schwartz hits SE Gregorie for the TD 7-0 Fresno mid 2Q. Chapman was 10 for 17 and then he broke a 20 yard run to put Madison on the Fresno 14. We see you and your unholy bank account 'Snap'. Irby hits Emmerson to make the game 7-7 with 3 mins left in 2Q. Warthogs are near midfield at the 2 min warning. Schwartz gets the ball to the Madison 17 when the most careful QB in the IFL throws his 6th INT in 6 quarters. Half ends with the score tied 7-7
Schwartz to Buerfeind for a bomb puts the Warthogs in Deamon territory on the 1st play of 3Q. Schwartz finds Buerfeind again to convert a big 3rd down moving the ball into Albert's INT Zone. lol Nice Blue Zone drive and Albert hits TE Banks for the 3 yard TD. 14-7 Fresno early 3Q. Snap shows off again, this time as a receiver putting Madison at midfield. Irby hits Hennessee for 15 on 3rd and 11 - aruugh! Galloway with the Sac and strip of Irby and Cooney lands on the ball for a big stop mid 3Q. Fresno is 8 of 12 on 3d and Oksenberg hits a field goal making the score 17-7 Fresno late 3Q. Irby to McConnell for 19 on 3d and 11 Deamon ball at midfield. Snap 20 yard catch puts Madison in FG range. 3Q ends with a Snap Chapman 1d run giving Madison a 1st and goal at the 9 trailing 7-17.
Chapman run and a Chapman catch sets up huge 3d and goal from the 1 - Fresno LB Walters defended the pass to FB Combess and Deamons take the FG cutting the deficet to 10-17 Fresno early 4Q. This is the point that Fresno imploded last week. Hodel returns KO 18 yards, but it puts the ball at the 11 because it was a 77 yard KO. Take the TB! Fresno opens with a little razzle dazzle as TE Banks runs for 10 too the outside. Of course this sets up a hold call. 1st and 15 from the 6. Warthogs get off the goalline but fail too convert. Madison takes over at their 29 down 10-17 early 4Q. Chapman gets 6 on 3d and 3, but Warthogs force Schottengeimer too punt and he crushes it OOB at the Warthog 3. 17-10 Fresno still early 4Q. Schwartz gets Warthogs off the goalline, but BU OL Brendon James allows 2 consecutive SACs and Emmons has to punt. Madison takes over at their 35 mid 4Q. Warthog pass D put some pressure on Irby and Madison is 3 and out. Schottenheimer did not get all of this one and Lester gets a nice return. Warthog ball at their 44 up by 7 with 6:13 left. Couple of Schwartz completions and Albert 'the INT machine' is past 300 again. More importantly Fresno is at Madison 42 and clock is moving. Couple of ugly receptions brings Emmons on too punt and Madison gets called for illegal block on return. Deamon ball at their 10 down 10-17 with under 3 mins left. Couple of runs sets up 3d and 4 at the 2 min warning. Irby checks down to FB Combness for 3. Its 4th and 1, but Madison has their Timeouts. Huge call for the Madison HC here - but instead there is a late flag for Defensive holding giving the Deamons another penalty FD as the home cooking continues. Irby moves Deamons to Warthog 45 with 61 seconds left. Holliday gets Irby for a SAC setting up 2nd and 16 and forcing a Deamon Time Out. Beauchamp with the pressure on 2d. Nickleback Bob Bailey with the pass defense sets up 4th and 16 as Fresno is very familiar with that play. Irby stands tall but Steed gets the coverage SAC. Schwartz takes a couple of knees ( unlike that stat whore Singleton who would have ran wide against the defeated foe!!! not that I am still angry about that FU TD he had a few seasons ago - lol)

            GG Georgia

I finally got a chance to watch what happened just now, it's hard to beat teams if you can't stop them from scoring on back-to-back possessions early, especially if your offense doesn't answer back right away. Even though we were able to get on the board eventually, Georgia made sure that it wasn't enough to win.

couple injuries but Ike Cook is Probable for next week so thats good

good win over the Ogres, after a heartbreaking loss to the Seals. Team's gotta grow up fast to overcome a g.m.'s mistake in the offseason...but, one step back may mean two steps forward.

I was forecasting you guys blowing us out. It's safe to say that we held our own.

GG to Anchorage and good luck the rest of the way.
gg Cy Young...wow we had two big plays on 4th down to turn the tide into our favor.

4-1-PEN26 (4Q: 08:19) Edward Jacobs pass completed to RB Bart Smoker for 26 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Smoker gained 18 yards after the catch. The quarterback threw away from the double coverage. Pennsylvania 19, Anchorage 16

Edward Jacobs pass completed to WR Bruce Berry for 26 yards. Tackled by S Stephen Wilson. The receiver ran his route right over the middle of the field. Berry gained 17 yards after the catch. The quarterback threw away from the double coverage.
1-10-PEN25 (4Q: 00:10) Edward Jacobs spiked the ball to stop the clock.
                        2-10-PEN25 (4Q: 00:05) Ross Gaudio attempted a 42 yard field goal and succeeded. Anchorage 20, Pennsylvania 19

It has taken Jacobs some time to get going but he has looked sharp in the 2nd half, hopefully he can keep it up. Gl the rest of the way, I hope you get your QB because you are a tough game-planner.
