Anyone tried Football Mogul? Maybe we could port the entire league to a new game that was kept updated. Would love to find one with a true simulator, like:
even Football Manager isn't a text sim anymore - it has 3D players on a field
Man, I would give my left nut for that. Can you imagine seeing your players actually play, aka, Football Pro 98', if anyone remember that. Would be cool to see that rookie RB take off for his first touchdown etc.....Imagine how exciting Sundays would be with everyone watching their team, rather then that lame player we have now.

I dont think football mogul is the game.

Wolverine Studios might be making a football game. They are in the process of finishing their college basketball game. Hopefully, he turns to pro football next. This would be the game to switch too.

I enjoy FOF's game, and truthfully I wouldn't want much of the aspects of the game changed. Maybe more in depth on hiring coaches etc, but if you change too much of the game, you could change the power structure in leagues. A lot of cosmetic work, some tweaks here and there and it would be cool.

for me what it'd take to make the game worthwhile is to have a "GM only" mode. some people don't want to run hundreds of tests to see how the gameplan system works. it'd be great to be in a GM-only league where you click a button and all the gameplan screens are greyed out - depending on the coach you hire will determine what the settings of your gameplan is. i have yet to hear of anyone who can win a championship using only Rex settings (not even tweeking what he recommends - just purely Rex "set it and forget it"). you have to become one of these gameplan savants to have any success and i was never one to put too much time into an aspect of the game that doesn't interest me. even opening the gameplan screen for the first time you look at it and go "omg, i have to tweak all these settings?!". might as well ask me what price i wanna charge for hotdogs and foam fingers while you're at it.

I like the GM only concept. And you could hire coaches taylored to your personnel. Like I want to run a asmash mouth offense. Get a coach is good at developing RBs and O line and like to run the ball.Stuff like that. Then if you hire a west coast offense guy with your smash mouth personnel. Your team would be terrible until you matched up the players tot he system.

This is funny, because there actually was one with penetration. Don't know for sure if it's the first one, but it was definitely one of the firsts. I know this because Suicane and I argued about it at FOFC and yadda yadda yadda that was the only time Suicane was right about anything and I was boxed the next day.
