2019 Prediction thread

2. Predict the winner of your division Oakland. SLC looks good except at QB and Reno is improved, but Oakland's offense is too strong.

5. Predict a breakout player on your team FL Al Wormack. He'll try to log the teams first 1000 receiving yds in a season since Pat Harding in 2013.

ha! I forgot about that - mixing universes and all. I suppose Butler and VCU could meet in 2019 - now that would be a prediction. I hope Butler wins tonight but I kinda think UConn will. At least the lady Huskies lost.

Team Record
11-5- With Donovan back, Wilson in his prime, Wingfield an Doyle manning the defensive line and the addition of Herman Hastings at MLB to take over for retired 10 year starter Jon Hawkins, this team is ready to take the next step and make a run for the conference championship.
Update: DAMN, nailed that one! Not a bad call

Division Winner
Oakland-While everyone in the division has improved, with Donovan back I feel confident we will take the division. SLC came on strong last year and Vancouver faded a bit, but their both still strong contenders. Reno has a couple years to go but don't sleep on the Wolfpack, they could jump right into the mix.
Update: Wow, that was close. Just BARELY squeaked the title. Vancouver is a force to be reckoned with!!


Conference Champion
Lawrence- While I feel I can make a strong run at this, Jesters got the Phantoms running like a well oiled machine and enough draft picks to be a contender for the next decade.
Update: I was damn close with this one.

Imperial Bowl Champion
Lawrence- See above^^^^
Update: Never saw Portland winning this. Not even close.

Breakout Player
FL Winston Stuart- Entering his second year in the league, and with Donovan once again manning the quarterback position look for a huge year from last years 19th pick of the 1st round.

Update: Was right on the money with this one! While he didn't come on late until late in the year, he has 3-4 extremely strong games which propelled us deep into the playoffs.
Team MVP
Horace Donovan- Back under center after being injured for the last 2 years, look for Horace to have his biggest year yet. With 2nd year pro Stuart at Flanker and a veteran offensive line including LT Stickney watching his blind side, the 9 year pro should take Oakland to the playoffs.
Update: Was way off here. Donovan struggled most of the year. He didn't play like his "bars" would indicate at all. Doyle, was the man once again. He could turn out to be one of the best there ever was at his position


Random Predictions
No matter how many draft picks Dakota acquires, they will still suck and go 5-11
Update: Dakota finished 4-12. I was one off here

Matt will complain again this year he's just one player away from the championship

Jester will acquire 5 more 1st round picks....and STILL win the IFL championship

St Louis's Ken Swift, who may be the best IFL linebacker the league has ever seen, will trash the rookie record for tackles and sacks this year

Not that this was a tough one to call, but yea, Swift could be the best linebacker we ever saw in the IFL. Defensive Rookie of the Year and All League 1st team linebacker....nuff said.

Hamilton will become so depressed at Dakota's complete ineptitude he will become the first IFL player to commit suicide

2. Predict the winner of your division-- Tulsa. Sleep on me, please.
-> We won our 7th consecutive division title
3. Predict the winner of your conference-- Tulsa. Cant stop the Tigerhawk express. 600 points is coming.
-> Oakland derailed us. We only scored about 450 points
4. Predict the Imperial Bowl winner-- Tulsa. We know the AC is always terrible. Lucky win last season.

5. Predict a breakout player on your team-- Tim Rhinehart. Never had a 1000 yard season. Never had more then 7 TDs. That changes this season.
-> Hit this one. He had 975 yards and 10 TDs
6. Predict your team MVP-- Matt Sanford. Duh

-> Gave them too much credit
8. The NC North has a sub 500 team win the division
-> Cy did a masterful job. Way off here

10. Gene Hamilton has his worst season. Hamilton refers to DG as "The Career Killer". And retires.
-> Nailed this one
11. St Louis inches ever closer to a 500 record winning 6 games.
-> Nailed this one too
12. The NC East beats each other up. This allows Tulsa to be the #1 seed.
-> Vermont and Orlando really let me down
13. DH falls 200 yards short of the career rushing record.
-> Ended the season 389 yars off the mark

5. Predict a breakout player on your team - S Johnny Devine He and Wally Hastings are both young guys getting their first shot at starting this year. I'll give the nod to Devine, just have a gut feeling that he'll be real good.
