Both are rebuilding teams, one is easy with Lansing (top 5 pick, some good young talent already), the other finished 8-8 somehow it'll either be 13th-16th pick or something depending on the tiebreaker.Originally posted by jley618 View PostSo far, Little Rock and Lansing are the 2 franchises that are currently open. If you were new to the league, which franchise would you select, and why.
I would lean towards Lansing, because they seem to have better long term upside, but I need to dive into the rosters a bit more.
Lansing badly needs a QB, but LRK has a rookie with at least decent bars. Someone to build around until you eventually land a franchise type of QB.
Star power -
-LRK has 2 players rated 60+ and one is injured for the next 2 seasons
-LAN has 5 players rated 60+, with one being the kicker.
Trenches -
-LAN has a decent middle of the pack offensive line, but a pretty weak defensive line minus their rookie Lake.
-LRK would have a pretty solid defensive line (had they played) if Ross not been injured for 2 years. Their offensive line is brutal though
So really it comes down to what you're looking for as a team. Both teams are going to be challenges to rebuild, but Lansing has already suffered some lean years and are probably already ascending, despite their record, while LRK is still has a lot of work to do.
Turning around either team will be a challenge, but there is no doubt LRK will require a lot more moves, quite a bit of luck, and a ton of patience to turn that into a winner again.Steve Beans - Houston Renegades

Tulsa is interesting with the DH Season and now the Andrews Season... Did the gameplaning produce that? Were the players just special?... What happens on the next go 'round once these guys retire?Originally posted by tarcone View PostI definitely wouldnt take Little Rock. Tulsa is the best team to ever play in the IFL. Going against an organization like that would be a useless endeavor. You would be perpetually frustrated.
I'd take Lansing based on current state of division.

I did gameplan to run more when Singleton got his record. And I did gameplan to pass more. But I think the players produced. Andrews has always gotten a lot of passes thrown his way. But how do you GP YAC?IFL Champions-- 2016

That was one of the reasons I was looking to join this league. The stability seems to be very good. Counting down until the 25th, at which time I should be able to take over a team and begin the building process.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys and hopefully field a competitive team at the same time.

Haha...your time at the top of the NC South is done. You'll be doing the disappearing trick soon enough.Originally posted by tarcone View PostI definitely wouldnt take Little Rock. I was hoping you'd share that with those of us who didn't break the YAC record twice in one season.Originally posted by tarcone View PostI did gameplan to run more when Singleton got his record.
