  • A couple of favors to ask

I just got back from leave, and and hoping for a "special" FA run so I can sign a player or two. I missed the entire preseason and FA stages inbetween games and don't want to try to sign a player in a game export.

Second, Sov, if you still keep the files, I'd like to have the files for preseason weeks 1-4. Thanks

All the files can be found in the individual posts in the League Office forum. Cringer started naming the league files uniquely.

As for the special FA run, I'd say that it is probably a no go. I'm guessing that there are probably some desirable players in the pool right now (after preseason cuts) and it's my opinion that everyone should have a fair chance at signing them. Had Cringer allowed for a second free agent stage originally I'd be all for it. But as it is, I think we should go with the schedule that was planned.

It's also my opinion that "special" free agency sims should only be used in the event of a positional emergencies, ie only 2 QBs, and we'd be opening a Pandora's box if we did otherwise.

Bummer, I thought that special FA runs were for positional emergencies and other situations, like afk for two weeks. Oh well.

      Thanks for the file info

Do you have a positional emergency? If so, then it's something we can discuss further.

I'm just trying to prevent other owners from getting upset because allowing you to have first dibs on players who just became free agents during this last stage could do just that. Hopefully you can understand that.

                Welcome back roadrash.

I am going to have to say "no" to a special free agent stage. Mostly for the reason's that sovstar gave. If I ran one now or tomorrow, on short notice, then that could screw out several guys who were thinking of grabbing guys on Monday. Trust me when I tel you that any of the decent player you might have an eye on, just became available on Monday when guys made cuts. So that also would give you an advantage of sorts, in having first crack at those guys.

My other problem is that it does open it up for requests from others in the future. If I ran one tomorrow, then a guy getting home on Saturday could ask for one. Or one of the guys not home until after Monday could ask for one next week.

Sorry to dissapoint. Hope you understand.

                  FA's on gameday

Are we allowed to offer FA's offers on gameday export?

Like I said, no worries. Had to try. I wasn't looking for an advantage, just a couple quick signings before week 1. But I can see how that would be unfair.

I was curious too, so I checked the rules:
                      I. Rosters & Finances

                      A. Teams are allowed to sign players on game days at their own risk.

If you sign guys the computer will reorder your lineup etc to get you in compliance with the roster reqs etc. That can change all that you have done in terms of gameplan and starting lineups etc. That is the own risk part.

                          Thanks

know the rule and now the consequences so not too sure it is worth it.
