some good wildcard games!
jave, I still believe that you should've played Donovan. I know you've been hit with injuries in the past, but this is why you play the games in the regular season. not sure if it would have helped you though with Chung playing well. Sometimes you just hit hot teams.
Nice work there BOSS! that comeback by Irby came just a little bit short! Those damn Tigerhawks look real good once again.NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

not like i'm thinking I can't win, but to beat tulsa is a huge task.......as it is to beat any playoff team.
My 2-7 playoff record doesn't make me feel too excited though! man we like to suck in the playoffsNEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

With Jarvis, who by the way caught 93 balls for 1346yds and 8 touchdowns was a strong weapon for Oakland, we went 9-7, fell short of both the division championship and missed the playoffs. While everyone laughs at that trade, adding the FB and the TE(It was two separate trades but the Jarvis trade allowed me to bring them both in), we went 11-5 and made the playoffs, and ran away with the division Championship. The reason we lost was not having my starting quarterback AND starting runningback for the game. Not to mention who the fuck was going to throw him the ball? Mann? We just saw what happens when he'd forced to put the entire game in his hands. Disaster.Originally posted by BOSS View PostJave, look on the bright side. You still have the best FB in the world. I had to laugh that Jarvis came back and bit you in the ass. You should have never traded him.
You had a good year man. Enjoy the successful season and just build on it.
Not his fault. The game plan was set to keep the game on Wilson's shoulders with select passing here and there to keep the D honest. But no team is going to win missing 90% of their offense. It is what it is. The trade was solid and improved my team, I don't for one second regret that trade.
LOL, yea, my ass is hurting!Originally posted by Chris Rex View PostThats what happened when I played Penn. My cornerbacks (though nowhere as good as yours) LITTERALLY might as well not have even been on the field. He was like 12/12 for 300000 yards before the first quarter was over. EVERY pass was completed, with minimal effect.
I wonder if there is some sort of random 'fuck you' factor in the game that pops up randomly once every few weeks to totally embarrass someone?

1. Stop Wilson. Done
2. Get Battles 100 yards. Done

4. Use Chungs ability to throw away from double cover. Done
Sorry Jave. Sometimes the better team doesn't win. You didn't lose Wilson until the end of the game so that wasn't a factor. I went 11-1 sence losing to Tulsa in week 5. You came across a very hot Texas team and I'm not surprised we won. GL next year.
Hey Tim, I'm just venting, no disrespect to you at all! The best team DID win!

Tough loss jave, hang in there. I think what it comes down to is that fof doesn't accurately simulate what defenses can do today in terms of the myriad of options available of running zone, man/zone...etc. I don't even think you can have a corner in short-zone in the game right? All we have is 3 deep and 4 deep so that goes to show really how deep the game is but I could be wrong also. I'd imagine you'd just short-zone to combat all the short-passing attacks (nickel+dime offenses hahahaha) in this league...j/k of course.

I would LOVE if Jim could put in a "halftime". It would be cool if say Sui could sim at 10am, then post halftime and teams could make adjustments and we could resim the second half Sunday night....something like that. Once you put in a gameplan your just stuck with it even if you get outsmarted, or outsmart yourself by overthinking(like I did) and/or adjust for injuries.Originally posted by BuddaKINGII View PostTough loss jave, hang in there. It's pretty depressing to be one and done. A good number of key players on this team are getting older, it's tough to see them not succeed when they'll probably be declining or retiring next year.
That being said, you out played us Mules. Good luck the rest of the wayCurrent GM Fresno Warthogs

1. I used a different gameplan that focused less on straight up running and a shorter passing attack. It failed but I'm not so sure you stopped Wilson as much as I stopped Wilson.
2. My whole goal was to give you whatever running you wanted to do, as long as I stopped the pass:

I don't mind posting it cause it was such a failure I'm never gonna use it again, but I wasn't really trying to stop Battles.
3/4. See above pic. I'm pretty suprised it was such a failure. I dunno how else to stop the passing attack if that doesn't work! LOLLast edited by Jave; 10-01-2010, 04:59 PM.

Interesting. I dont use a pass-only offense ever. Thats not how Texas wins its games. I think you would have gone with what has worked for you all season. I was only pointing out that I did exactly what I gameplanned for. You just made it easier for me I guess. Not trying to stop Battles could have been the reason you lost as he and the others got 10 1st downs running. And lets face it, you were one score from beating me.. Just a roll of the dice.Originally posted by Jave View PostFor the record:

Yea, I outsmarted myself. I SHOULDA just run Wilson down your throat all day, but with Madison and Vancouver both stopping the "run first" idea, I wanted to change it up as I thought you would run goal line D all day or whatever they are doing( I admit it, I have no clue LOL), and I went a pretty even run/short pass gameplan, which was my downfall. Not that you wouldn't have beat me anyway, I'm just regretting that plan.Originally posted by TimG View PostInteresting. I dont use a pass-only offense ever. Thats not how Texas wins its games. Your the better team, you beat me in my house, so I'm not at all trying to say, "I woulda won if".....Just conversation till Sunday!
It's going to be extremely tough to beat this Texas squad folks....great QB, two great receivers and a tough as nails runningback. Good luck Penn, and good luck Tim. Masterful gameplan bro, you earned it!
