  • Ok, I dont get this...

I have a player that is injured. He is 'probable for 3 weeks'.

I cannot release him, or even offer him an injury settlement to release him, yet I also cannot put him on IR.

Am I simply stuck with this player that I was going to cut, sacrificing a roster spot?

EDIT: I apparently cannot release anyone who is inured, even as a test. Didnt we used to have an injury settlement option?!

I never knew that. That seriously blows. Ugh. It seems kinda counter productive... you want to rest your starters and give young players a chance in the last game, but if you happen to get a rash of injuries, you may be stuck with a bunch of players who would have otherwise been fodder.

What a shitty, tangled web we weave... :-)

On a side note, I cannot remember encountering so many injuries in the preseason.

Ya, our game seemed to have quite a few.

You can always take the opportunity to IR a guy who's injured but you'd cut anyways.

Apparently he's not injured 'enough' to IR him. It's the perfect storm of shit :-)

Yeah, a guy has to be "out" to be put on IR I believe.

multi year contracts to scrubs might be a thing of the past for the Warthogs.

That sucks for the Firebirds Chris.

Gah.. I'm in a similar situation.. Have a guy I want to cut, but without him I can't meet the "must have dressed" situation, since I have my "final" guy injured bad enough for him not being in the lineup for another week.

I've been sitting with FOF open for the past 4 hours trying to decide which young player has to go
