Another option

I was thinking last night about another option, a "Buddy". I remember this from my military days. Here's how it would work for the IFL:

A team selects a "Buddy", for instance, mine would possibly be Tarc, Jester or Matt. I would leave a short, detailed set of instructions with my "Buddy" in the event I was absent and unable to be involved.
If Tarc was mine, and like now, he is on vacation and assuming he had NO access he could leave me instructions such as:

1. I have the 1.13. If you can trade down if "insert list of wanted players" is drafted do so.
2. Need a solid backup Linebacker in the 4th. If no quality LB'ers are left go Safety.
3. In the 6th look for a 3rd QB with strong "kick holding".
4. If your able to move a high 3rd for a 4th and two 5ths make the trade
ETC....

Since I'm able to watch 90% of the draft I could follow Tarc's instructions and send Matt or Sui Tarc's selections based on his list. Obviously not all owners want this responsibility and that's fine, they don't have to choose a buddy, but if Matt or Sui was made aware of this prior to the owner going absent, it would help move things along and the owner still gets strong players for his team.

This is something that should be done already. Wichita did so with Matt & I for most of the 1st round.

I wouldn't bring Sui and Matt in ahead of time for... say owners who have been in the IFL for 3 seasons or so... we simply kick out any GM trying to sabotage another's draft (can't see the devil's advocate to that one). It's not like we could've made the public trade for Wichita yesterday and got away with it if he didn't really give us "Power of GM".
