Sounds like the new patch does give some credit to signing early then. Me likey that.

I have been warning those that would listen that I've seen this in my short SP experience. For those that wanted a better FA crop, wait until next year or the year after. We will start to see some solid talent, or maybe just some solid middle tier guys that can make a difference.

My take: We'll see 1-2 years of increased FA pools and then trading will increase as owner/GMs realize that even less-than-market-value is better than seeing a player walk in FA.

I wonder what FA would do to these QB requests.

good point. Will need to be viligant about not allowing any 'sweetheart' deals. Could get ugly.

I assumed keeping Donovan would be a given. I really don't know if it's even possible now without gutting my entire team for one player. I may just let him go.

Seems you've been at this crossroads before...

I think I remember jettisoning the QB resulting in many years of losses and talk of leaving...

              Will history repeat...

Well I'm not dismantling my team for Donovan....we will see...he's signed through next year regardless.

I have such mixed feelings with the Horace Donovan situation. I feel like I won the IFL lottery with Amos at the end of the 3rd (and right in front of Sui - I can't tell you how GOOD that feels ) but if not for that I'd be sooo wishing I took Donovan. Without looking at the game I'm pretty sure you got him 14th or 15th and way beyond where he should have fallen in that draft.

I have a passionate hate for those who let franchise QBs fall in the draft or sit on the trading block!!!!

This is complete validation of what a horrible gameplanner I am. Even though Donovan hasn't won, or even MADE the playoffs in his entire career, the game is treating him like Peyton fucking Manning and he wants to be paid as such. Tarc, or someone who has a QB who has made the playoffs(Caro?), what do they want to resign? Is it just every QB now that want big money?

Sanford wants a 5 year deal worth $119.56 million.

Im looking for reasons why Donovan want s soooo much more then Sanford. Statistically, Sanford is much better and he is the reigning IFL Bowl MVP.
The only thing I can see is that I resigned Sanford right before we switched to the new patch.

And what is really funny is that Wilson only has 2 years left on his contract. As does Doyle and Farley is in his last season.
Thats at least 60 mil in contracts per year.
Jave has some serious decisions to make.

That's my frustration/confusion with this new patch. After nearly a decade, my team finally won 9 games. Not made the playoffs, not won the division, not won the Championship, we just won 9 games. My team has been so bad for so long I probably do have an inordinate amount of good players on my team, but it's JUST NOW making a difference. I'm JUST NOW starting to recover and win games. Now this patch comes along making it impossible to keep my current team intact, much less add a few key players that will push me into the playoffs. Now I have to let 2-3 key players go, which will in turn push me back into the 4-6 win a year team.

People were complaining that there was this flood of money in the salary cap, to be honest, I have never seen it. I have never had this pool of millions and millions of dollars just sitting around being unused. Any money I leave in my salary cap is for a purpose because I am looking ahead into the future knowing a few key players like Doyle and Farley will need to be resigned.
This year is a perfect example. I have 18 million and only 32 players signed. Where is this flood of money that this patch was supposed to fix? Wish I got in on that pool.................

The only way i can see to keep a dynasty-type team together is to build through the draft, and getting lucky finding excellent players who also have high loyalty. The loyalty will allow them to accept lesser contracts than some of the ridiculous ones the game asks for
                            Current GM Fresno Warthogs
Former GM Cleveland Clawz - 2018 IFL Champions

                            RNFL - Washington Redskins
                            OSFL- Boston Drunken Fightin' Irish
                            CyFL - Miami Dolphins

ive played a bit of sp with this patch. once you sign them to the huge deals every year they will be willing to sign a new deal and take a bit less the current year. also i did notice some players willing to take pay cuts some years... I dont know if this has to do with loyalty or not but yeah.

Sorry folks its no longer gonna be all rainbows and butterflies where we are playing with house money writing checks with monopoly money backing them.

Have you tried offering a very large bonus up front but a lower salary overall? It might be the additional bonus money on the new offer that triggers the resigning. Just a guess.
