  • Thankfully FA is over and done.

A little debate about a new free agent exploit in signing guys....

    http://www.fof-ihof.com/phpBB2/viewt...er=asc&start=0

This will be monitored and addressed spefically by next offseaso. Right now I say I do not much like the exploit and would be dissapointed to see if guys have used/will use it. This is loosely covered in the rules now though, which if you have not seen are redone a little and up in the League Office.

    Hey I did that. ops:

    Kidding - really honestly joking.

Yeah I think that would be covered with IFL backloading rules.

matter of fact that would be an extreme backloaded contract. I am not gonna do the math but it sure looks that way.

well, it is semi-backloading but not in the same way as the voidable last year backload which is why that rule was put in place.

this is a bit different because you are offering the guy a bunch of money right away, but it is not bonus money, so you can cut or trade the guy at anytime with no cap hit...

It's kinda exactly opposite of what the Mules did.

Mules offered a big bonus and then low yearly keeping the CAP hit pretty level throughout.

This deal would offer no bonus with a promise of a big yealy at the end.

I just had a thought that would be a little work to someone.

What about an excel file that would incorporate the IFL backloading rules and eliminate the frontloaded/backloaded extreme's also.

Kinda like a FA offer template. If your offer comes through then it is good to go if not then you gotta come up with something else.

Just a thought. I am not talking about a formula -everyone would have the same offers with a formula - I am takling about a way to verify that an offer is within IFL guidlines.

This is not new. I've done that in solo careers since fof 2k1. Even in 2k4 solo careers this is easily done. The downside is that you have to renegotiate and obviously fork out a huge bonus in the 2nd or 3rd year.

I'm more for the creator of the game to fix this shit once and for all by the time we get to free agency next year.

I have to agree with sovstar on just waiting and seeing. Pretty much the reason for the title of this thread, no big need to worry about it right now.

Whoa, totally off topic, but I've never been to IHOF forum before....

Can we get the season leaders thing?? Would that be really difficult to implement? Just thought it was really cool.

You mean on the msg. board under your name?

If so, then I in theory know how it is done, but do not know how to implement it. I am sure it works off a database and is "updated" on its own everytime the database is updated. That is how most of their stuff works on that site that I know of, I just need to learn VB so I can create a program to take all the data from the FOF HTML, put it into database form, and then figure out how and where to have the database data displayed on the webpage....

Ah! Simple, so I should expect it to be up and running by the time I wake up, right?
