FB <-> TE switches...

So I gambled and switched a TE (Ty Cyr) to FB because the game said his ratings might increase thought the pre-commish-file switch turned him into a 35 OVR on my screen...


The player went from a potential 61 to a potential 62 OVR so as expected the 35 OVR didn't hold up BUT... The players blocking strength dropped CONSIDERABLY from about 75 to about 25!! What's the deal with that? Maybe I'm missing something important but that seems like a huge drop for two very similar positions.

I don't think ratings are linear when players change positions.........atleast in all cases.

Well his ratings (OVR) did increase, just not the specific (blocking) ones that I'd like to have had do so.

Yeah, I know that and can accept a LB losing strength and such on a switch to DLine but a 238 lb. TE (light me thinks) switching to FB (normal weight I'm semi-guessing) I just don't see losing blocking strength. You win some and lose some so I accept that I gambled and lost but this feels like a case of a video game just throwing "random dice" where there's no need.

One one hand, it's BS...your right, they do basically the same thing. The main difference is, a TE can ALSO catch the ball...however, I also DO believe a FB is considerably stronger..so maybe that's not so far off?
