My franchise LT I waited 10 years for? Let me make a suggestion, don't wait 2 years to move him from RT to LT..I FAIL!

Meanwhile, in the same draft, Portland choose Troy Stickney:

Yea, that's being outdrafted 101. OUCH!

You have a good chance in the rookie year. After that, LT is the HARDEST position to change TO on the O-Line, With C being the EASIEST to change to. Weights help, but not by much. LT will always be hardest, and anyone or their brother can become a C and retain all their stats.

Yea...the funny, or not so funny part is Jester and a few other warned me NOT to move him to LT, it was to late. If I wasn't so lazy I would find the post with me asking about it. So I did it anyway and yea...FAIL.

If i remember right, Stickney was a GUARD in the draft. I think he was moved to LT. I could be wrong though.

What I did wrong is wait tell after TC to make the move. Jester told me if I was going to move him to do it BEFORE TC. I thought after playing the position a few years I would take less of a hit on the % he retains....I was wrong.

I moved a RT to LT in another league and the same thing happened. He did rebound somewhat because I did the move before TC but nonetheless it was a hit.

I think the best way to approach that type of move is give your player some game time at the position you wish to move him to. Then when he get enough experience at that position make the move. But LT is the hardest postion to move to.

the only chance for success is the rookie year pre training camp switch. You might only lose about 10% or so. It looks like you lost about 30%.

What was the warning when you switched?
              NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR
              DE JUSTIN JONES
              LB DOMINGO PERSAUD
              TE THOMAS MACOMBER
              LT IRWIN KAO
              WR ANDREW ROBEY
              SS GREGORY BOYD
              RB ALAN CRESPO
              G MALCOLM "BIG KAT" SINGLETON
              WR WALTER WALKER
              G AMOS BAILEY
              QB DWIGHT "KING" BURGER
              RB GARY "THE SITUATION" JAMISON
              WR JOSE HOOVER
              K BUTCH SCHULZ
              LB MACK EDWARDS
              DE STEPHEN BRIGHAM
              WR JESSE LUCAS

Well prior to TC is told me he would retain 92%, when I switched him last year, it said I would retain 83%. When I first did the switch it looked about right, but when the game moved to the offseason, he dropped another 10 points it appears.

Erbaugh/Stickney, much like the 2 top DTs in this draft, are situations where I hate taking the 1st one off the board. I'd much rather be "stuck" with the seemingly lesser one later in the draft when so much info is foggy at that time for me, someone who doesn't use the applications or methods to bring FOF drafting to a science.

I am weighing in on this topic late. I dont claim to be a guru about the game. I dont know as much as say jester and such. But you think his loss might have been because before the switch he had YELLOW expirence at LT and have nothing to do with it being 3rd year instead of 1st? Even after the switch it only looked like his expirence went to orange. I have a RT 3rd year right now I may switch to LT he is Red expierence at Right and Left.

which btw i cant remember but i think i played him out of posistion at LT all last year anyways. that might be why he has the high expirence at LT. dont remember but i just noticed that in your pictures above and i wonder if that is maybe why this was a 'fail'

Honestly make sure you are ok with the % he retains..if it says 77% thats what it means. Maybe you will take a lower hit, maybe not...but be prepared..it may be a bigger hit then u think.

I am pretty sure he played LT last year i just never changed his position. It says I should retain 91% of his current value and It looks like his potential value goes up slightly.

Ohh Since his first game, he started and played nearly every single down at LT. What I did notice is, despite spending almost NO time at RT, he seemed to improve at RT fasted then LT. If he played any RT it was the game placing him there, not me. So I have no idea how a player improves at RT even though he's playing out of position for 2 straight years.

strange. I hope that my guy haveing max expirence at LT makes his transition smoother.
