    HAPPY 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

    That's right.

    It was 5 yrs ago this month Cringer founded the Imperial Football League. A unique league set up to allow people with busy schedules to play FOF MP.

    Thought it would be a neat idea to discuss/remember events over the last 5 yrs. think about where you were 5 ys ago, or where you were when you joined. first impressions?

    Sadly not 5 years for me, but I do remember Jester talking about it, and me *almost* joining at the start, I wish I had.

        i came in week 2, I think. I wanted one of the Canadian teams, but missed out by an hour or so. So, I took Newark....who happened to be 1-0 at the time.

          I joined in the 2010 season. Hawkster told me to join. Said it was a great league. Wasn't the first time he was wrong.

                I know! He kept asking me to join (we were in the USFL together) and then I said yes, then he never really did anything in either league again. I think we played one more year and quit both leagues. Anyone ever talk to him?

                  I've moved 5 times and to 3 different states since the league started. Who could've known at the time how long it would last. Any of the other 2-3 games/week leagues would have burned me out a long time ago or I would've quit due to missing too many exports and not really feeling in control of my team.

                  Viva La IFL!!!

                  BTW - It was June 2004 that we started. I had wanted to do one of these threads on the specific day but missed it.

                      sorry, jester is right. It was June. Regular season started in July though!!!!

                        I have been here since about week 2 with Orlando. Man it has been a great ride. This my all time favorite league and team!!

                          I joined before 2009. I made a splash by acquiring Groth and another WR and kicked arse my 1st 3 games. Then we quickly came back to reality.

                            still kinda regret leaving, but I had no time - not even a couple of hours.

                            Anyhow great too be back.

                            Mules would not have stunk up the IFL so bad for the first few years if I was not totally new too the game. I bought it just for the IFL. Still do not play single player much. I have started multiple careers, but never even finished a season as It just does not compare to the IFL.

                              I joined in April or so of 2005.. The first playoffs had started and I even think I had a game there (that we obviously lost). I know there was some hoopla about the original Burlington Bolts GM, but I was never told what it was.

                              I was invited by Sov, who I had been in a failed league (XLF) with.

                              I hope this league lives on for another 5 years.. at least.. I love it.. I love the pace and I love the banter on the boards.
