  • Hall of fame?

So what do you guys think about starting a ballot this upcoming off-season? I'm thinking something like a player must be retired for 3, maybe 4 seasons before he becomes eligible (5 may take another few seasons)...

Here is a quick group of players retired in 2012..

    QB - Booker
    RB - Dixon
    RB - Crosby
    RB - Beamer
    WR - Scharf
    G- Pinder
    DT - Davis
    Cb - Rhodes
    K - Tate

    In 2011 or before

    RB - Tart
    WR - Romano
    C - Marshall
    LT - Kao
    MLB - Graybill

So there are some good names on the list any a few going to be getting there soon, we may want to get started on the voting process before the list gets too big.

    left off Mendez - lol

    and for non sparkarse replies.

Nice list and good thought. Owner voted HoF would be much more prestiegous than in game.
I say 1 Owner voted per season with elegibility after 4 years retired. Would be exclusive for sure

Could also have 1 Owner voted per season with elegibility after 10 years retired. An Oldtimers vote too pick
up the handful of guys denied from the first owner vote. Just a thought

Don't know who is retired till new season button pressed so could not make vote mandatory with roll call or Other Owner voted
awards though. Just thinking as I am typing. Would top vote getter get in or would everyone get 2-3 votes winner be the one with most votes or all players exceeding certain threshold of owners allowed in. I like simple so I say 1 vote per owner winner gets in.

    again good thoughts Steve

      4:30am rambling thoughts.

If and when we do a HOF I think the process I'd like to use is to get 12-15 owners who REALLY want to be a part of the process and go with a 75% vote to get in. I'd like to say we'll just open it up to all owners but some guys just dont have the time or inclination to vote or really go thru the stats and what not and I'd like to have a group that like I said, REALLY wants to be a part of the process.

That being said I'm sure we can work something up this offseason to get the ball rolling on a HOF.

        Good ideas.

I think the lower range of retirement years (maybe 2-3) would be best since our league isn't that old and we get like 1-3 new GMs per season. I personally like some bias based on personal perspective in the voting or else it's just staring at stats and it'd be nice for the GMs voting to have been around to witness the players they're voting on.

How about an owners/GM's category as well for those who have left us? This would obviously be a very small category but could involve stuff outside victories like league activity, humor, and just general "he was awesome to have in the league".

Yea I like that idea. Each season when it starts, have 4-7 players elected, I think we'll probably have a lot of candidates soon enough.

Booker would be a tough one, right now he's the best retired QB, but there are 12 active players with more passing yards, and 9 with more TDs. He still does have the 7th best career rating of all time, and 2 of the guys ahead of him only have 5 years in the league, which makes 'flame outs' possible.

Btw Vito, yea there were a bunch of RB's (more than any other position) who seemed to finish with great stats, I didn't listen them all though, was about to head to bed.
