  • How did I do this offseason?

I have 26.5 million invested in my running game starters. Of course quite a few of them are still learning

I really wanted to do a major upgrade to my Run-D, which is all that was between me and the division title in my opinion. Unfortunatly, that prick Collins signed with the evil empire in Cleveland, and the draft was a bit of a let down on the D side. I still overhalled my LB Corp, and improved to a point, my D-line.

The real test won't come until week 1 against the Wichita Hoodlums. They picked up 280 yards against my Run-D in week two last year, even though I held em to 53 yards, on the ground, in week 16. But they were pretty much decimated by injuries by the time we met the second time.

All in all, I think I'm in pretty good shape to knock off the AFC Champs on their own ground. And, I don't think Tart's single season rushing record of 1799 yards, is safe this year. And I think Beamer takes it, for good.

Beamer, "I got a message for that Cleveland Weasal Running Back, and that so called MVP in SLC. It's huntin' season, just try and keep up."

I don't doubt that many guys would use the same argument, but when you've got the cash to spend I say, "why not spend it."

There really isn't anyone worth signing anymore, but there were some guys that could've been signed to one-year deals only and not affect your cap situation for next year.

It's all in the beholder's eyes though. By not spending all of your cap money that could help out your financial situation, ie your "bottom line".

If I had signed my other 3 FA targets, and went through on a trade that kind of disolved before my eyes, I would be barely within the cap. The extra room in my cap is not for a lack of trying.

Agreed, sometimes it is best to sit on extra money, then spending it to spend it.

I feel I have done well for the most part. For a 10-6 team with no passing game we have increased depth at receiver, increased the talent at ILB and OLB, we have added talent to the OL, which will allow me to move Augstin Cimino inside to G (still thinking about this one). Now, instead of having to run outside all the time, we can punch it up the gut, as well as bust it outside. We have improved our QB position, and if Scotty Nelson comes back at full strength this year, I think we can knock off West Virginia this year. We have also upgraded our off. coordinator and head coach.

With the same schedule as last year, we would be a 12-4 team, but with this year's tougher schedule, I think we will be 10-6 again.

"Put up or shut up offer "

              Hey Roadrash,

Ya seem quite confindent that you are going to take my division title. Let see if you are willing to put anything up to prove your confindence.

I propose to trade my first rd pick next year for yours. Therefore whoever has the better season next year will win the bet because they will get the other teams pick which will be higher.

I have nothing against betting, but draft picks are already too much of a gamble.

Have to come up with something that doesn't require any players/picks, but just as hummiliating. Just remember, I beat you in week 17, and I dont' plan on losing to ya this year.

Well, if you guys want to bet thats up to you. Two things though, keep if friendly/fun. And to through a proposal out there I could give the loser a special title that goes under you name in posts (right now its your rank). The loser could be Iowa City's/Cleveland's Bitch or something. :P

Nah, I didn't go that far, I just said I thought we could beat you this year. We were halfway there this last year. As I've said before, the AC East lived up to our end of the bargain in beating you, it was the rest of the league that couldn't!

I think we improved a lot in our weak areas. Heck, just having a healthy starting QB is a HUGE help. That was the difference between a deep playoff run, and a one and done.

Not trying to start a public debate with the commish but what's wrong with what K-cin offered? It wasn't really a bet at all, just a straight trade of 1st round picks.
