Potential new style for ingame art...

Are the helmets plowing the field or having a picnic?

If you expanded the image of my helmet, you would clearly see the rest of Donald Hasting's outfit and then him boning a few Renegade cheerleaders to keep his spirits high while playing on such a lousy team

I like the helmets and think they're a big improvement at any rez.

The background looks more like baseball weather than football. The Anchorage helmet looks particularly unnatural.

haha - If this makes sense you both sucked the life out of my "grass & dirt" football fantasy and gave new life to my "snowy blizzard" vision of football! I agree totally and would like to search for a snowy vision of IFL ball now.


BTW - One of the issues with Anchorage's helmet is that I left the shadowing/highlighting alone for this template. That may be part of the "unnaturalness" that you're seeing... then again I don't profess to not suck.

I think new ingame art etc is a must. To many teams have switched their names/uniforms, but in game they still show the old styles. This doesn't make things very realistic.

I'd like to see new in game art and avatars. I'm a big fan of uniformity. This is a big reason that I haven't gone ahead with a switch of my helmet, because in-game it wouldn't show, and my avatar would look different from the majority.

I'm a fan of variety so I'll probably have a different forum avatar than the rest of the crew unless it becomes a rule, at which point I wouldn't care much at all and would easily follow said trend.

I'll try to get you a temp forum avatar and one of these in game pics later tonight. Matter of fact I might as well go ahead with this project as there's been enough positive reaction. I really like DDT's idea so I'll try to get a few weather types for each GM to choose from -> variety and uniformity in the same package.

Yeah, I was waiting for Nece to play better before I made him the face of the franchise. He seems to have arrived the last 3 wks so go for it if you like. Needs a nickname to.

Unique or semi-unique backgrounds sound like a really good idea; and a ton of work. Maybe different backgrounds for each division .... or region of the country in the game - great lakes, plains ..... Or perhaps just make a half dozen or so and use the most appropriate one.

Some other possibilities - corn field, oil field, rocky mts, pacific ocean, great lake, frozen lake ....

I'll see later if any of these actually blend smoothly with the current helmet image. Not too many images are taken from a couple inches off the ground with a perspective on the horizon so the original helmet image is a tough image to match others to.

A couple of thicker fonts per Coder's request. Helmet stripe is done. Shadows/highlights added to Lynx logo. Rudimentary facemask control in place.

If I were a smarter man I would've put the first 3 letters of the font names instead of "ANC" for referral purposes. Since I'm dumber than I'd prefer to be the 3 here are Glaze, ReviewCondensed, Princeton.
