  • Draft Schedule for Wednesday (IMPT)

I am not sure if or how much sovstar and roadrash will be able to be on this evening/night. Same goes for Hawkster who has been helping out today.

With that said, I currently have to take a short nap and get things ready to go drive all night long and get some work in this week. I will check in before I leave, around 2230 CST.

If no one shows up, please try to continue if you have a pick. In 15 minutes Reno's time runs out. That is 1815 central.

At that time West Virginia may pick, the team behind WV (Madison) may then pick following him. If Reno or Fargo show up they are still able to pick at anytime.

I think we can get through the rest of this round like this. Cleveland can pick after Madison, if Cleveland does not pick then an hour after Madison Orlando can pick.

PLEASE GET LISTS IN FOR TOMORROW!!!!!!!!

Send them to sovstar and roadrash, and even Hawkster if he wants to help out tomorrow too. Do not PM them to me, I will not get them. If you email them to me then I may be able to forward them, but no guarantees.

Sorry the rest of today has to be like this but the three of us have things to do, but would still like to get through this today. Thanks.

    Cringer.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

Alright, here is how it's going to go.

We have two teams on the clock right now. They have until 1600 Central tomorrow (Wed the 7th) to make their selection. If Lou picks, the next team may pick, and if the next team picks, so on. The draft will be running from 1600-2400 hours. 8 hours to do 32 picks and get through round 4.

So far, when a team misses the cut, they slowly drop 10 spots and then get a pick assigned to them. Teams may now drop 16 picks before someone is assigned to them. Get those prefs in before the draft starts again, or make sure you are there. If we get too many more missed picks I'm going to be asking for an automatic 5 pick drop everytime a pick is missed. No bottom. Want to end up with the bottom 3 picks in the 7th?

We are actually moving right along, but keeping the board up is extremly hard, and sorting through pref lists with extreme attention to detail is no quick matter. Add in the fact that we have to "select" players for teams that miss the cut, and you have a literal pain in the a**. There is no real reason, beside death, to miss a pick. Send us a message stating you need the top rated Punter, you will get him. What ever you give us, we will use. Anything is better than nothing.

We hope to have the draft done by this weekend so we can continue to cruise through the offseason. If we finish the offseason next week, we can take a nice easy holiday and kick the season off at the beginning of 2004 season and watch the Snipe Hunters begin their legendary climb to the top.

First off, I just want to thank the guys that have been keeping up to par. You know who you are. Thanks for making timely picks and/or sending in preference lists. Now on the other side of the spectrum...

Hell yeah! It just took me over a half an hour to update the files thanks to a few guys who don't seem to mind dropping down the board like flies in the winter. Because you don't bother to a) send in a list b) try to check in at the board every once in awhile or c) tells us what position to draft, I thank you. Excellent work, guys. Keep it up!

This is becoming a pain in the ass and that's why me and roadrash haven taken some different, but appropriate measures. Yes, we've gotten through three rounds in basically three days. That is pretty amazing, but it's at the hands of a minority of the league. A good number of the same guys are slowing things down for the rest of us, so change is coming about.

You've got until 4pm central to make a simple list and send it to roadrash, hawkster, and I. Please PM them to all of us or use that nifty preference util that roadrash created. I'd encourage everyone to make a preference list, even if you think you may be around. I hope to zip throught things when it really gets started at 4, so if you haven't sent in a list and you aren't on the board I will be PO'd. Send in a list!

So just to clarify, Louisiana and Oakland are on the clock until 4pm. As soon as they both pick the next team can pick and so on. BUT there is no time limit and there is no skipping until 4pm. I wouldn't be so surprised to see only 2 or 3 picks mades before 4pm.

It is what it is. New updated file in just a moment for those that can take advantage of it. FA exports due tomorrow morn at 10am central.

Disclaimer: This post is not intended to defend those who fail to submit lists or make picks.

Disclaimer 2: I have made all my picks in person and will be around today to either make it or send you a list around 4:00.

Now the text that needed two disclaimers. Im sure that part of the missed picks problem is related to the short deadlines. Im not defending those guys but here is something to think about. We didnt run multiple games a week because this league was geared towards guys who dont want an export 4 days a week. Now, you are making the draft (the fun part of the season) fly by in a week or less. We are inconsistent. Yes there are some guys that are here and will make picks at any point and would love to see the draft click by (me included). With that said, we have to remember our co-owners who signed up for the slower pace. So, while it is frustrating to wait for them and a pain to manage the draft in general (and I have done that for other leagues so know exactly the effort required) we should try to remember our charter.

Now make those damn picks so I can pick my 4th round sleeper stud of the century.

Thanks for all the effort from our draft managers. I feel your pain and appreciate you helping keep our league moving along when the boss is on the road.

That is actually a very good point. This is a two export a week league that we are now asking for 4 exports and pref lists (up to 7) this week.

I don't think we can adjust the pace this season due to the holidays. But for the next offseason, we can definitly learn from our shortcomi9ngs this year.
