It is just too quiet for a playoff weekend as this week's coaching staffs are keeping things very close to the vest

    An Update in Norfolk:
This will be the fourth time that Cleveland travels to play Norfolk in a playoff game (2006, 2007, 2011 and this year) and the Clawz have yet to find the formula to crack the winning code in Viper Stadium as all of their playoff fortunes have ended with those trips. This year, the Clawz will find that the environment will not be any friendlier than what they experienced in years past. Tailgating has already started this evening and league officials expect that Viper Stadium will host the largest and noisiest crowd ever to watch an IFL playoff game.

I've been thinking about this game since we upset the Toads. I think we have what it takes to get this done. I'm hoping we can collect ourselves and make a big statement

Tied 7-7 at the end of the first half, it appears the perverbial FOF switch has been flipped for the Trojans.

Not sure what happened on this play
Texas: Single-Back formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and 3-deep zone coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
2-4-NWK46 (3Q: 12:04) Clayton Chung pass completed to WR Jamie Ellison for 15 yards. Tackled by CB Stephen Jaynes. The receiver ran his route right over the middle of the field. Ellison gained 6 yards after the catch. The quarterback threw away from the double coverage. PENALTY: Texas was called for an Illegal Chop Block.
Texas: I formation, with the second wideout in the slot, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and 3-deep zone coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
1-10-NWK46 (3Q: 11:55) Barry Battles ran inside the right guard for 2 yards. Tackled by DT Roman Troutman.

shouldn't it be 2nd down again?

here's another one. Am I missing something here?

Texas: Pro formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 43 and 2-deep bump-and-run coverage, expecting the run.
1-10-TEX42 (4Q: 02:51) Clayton Chung pass completed to WR Grady Gomez for 17 yards. Tackled by S Joseph Schaffer. The receiver ran his route right over the middle of the field. Gomez gained 7 yards after the catch. PENALTY: Texas was called for Tripping.
Texas: I formation with two tight ends, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the run.
1-10-TEX49 (4Q: 02:42) Barry Battles ran inside the left tackle for 2 yards. Tackled by OLB Russell Hennessy, assisted by S A.J. Robinson.

looks like we come up short here. We just couldn't score there at the end of the game. Good luck the rest of the way

We get the monkey off our back and beat Norfolk in the playoffs. Thought we were dead When Lozier had the ball 2 mins left and needed a td. Sack fumble and thats the game. Maybe this was Corey Perkins break through game.

GG r00k things went out way today.

A super good game Eck. No doubt, the best team and their young QB won today. Perkins was a God or my defense was nonexistent on the field.

I hope you go far in the playoffs. Best of luck ... I will be rooting all the way.

On a sad note, I am afraid this is the beginning of the end for the Lozier - Viper era.

GG Matt. Not sure what happened there, but I have seen it before in a few games here and there. I've tried to think of a reason for it but really can't come up with one. Sorry, It sord of takes the fun out of winning for me.

Good games this weekend. Congratulations to the winners. We'll be seeing a 1st time IFL Champ this season.

I've seen penalties accepted/denied when they obviously shouldn't but never what happened in the Texas/Newark game. I hope Jim fixes that.

                              GG SLC.

I was nervous because we only won by 3 when we met during the regular season, and a rematch is always a chance for redemption. I really like the way we came out of the gate, really seized the game.
