Wow, we are playing very well right now. We weren't able to score a touchdown, but we pretty much dominated Boston. They scored a touchdown with time expiring in regulation, to pull within five, but defensively, we controlled the game. Time of possession says it all: 37 minutes for us and 23 for Boston. Just wish we could have punched it into the end zone. We had a crapload of red zone opportunities.

And late in the year, I decided to give Nicky Kersey a second chance and it's paid off. He's had three straight 100 yard games to end the year. We'll keep him for another year, I think.

    Good game Boston.

If I can keep this defense playing like this next season, we'll be all right, I think. Good way to go into the offseason. We may have killed our draft positioning these final three weeks, but I think it was worth it. Just pisses me off that it took 13 games before I figured out how to gameplan the Beasts.

Wish we would have made the playoffs this year. Would love another shot at beating Norfolk.

        Little Rock notes....

Finally, WR Richard Hathcock had a 1000 yard receiving season after 10 years.

I hope Brian Dixon comes back for another year, just so I can get him over 14,000 yards rushing, the rushing kind is 198 yards shy.

Ralph Given set the team pass record by almost 600 yards, with 4631 yards this year. Also set the team TD passes record by 1, with 32. Actually he broke every team passing record but two.

Randolph Kennedy set a team record with 15 TD receptions.

RJ Rosenfels paid off (traded for him before the season) and set 3 team blocking records with 44 KRB and 9 pancakes.

3 new teams records on offense which were points scored, passing yards, and total yards.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

I end the season on a high note by beating hated rival SLC....and probably dropped 10 draft spots with the win!! LOL But any time I can beat Vito and his crap ass donkey's, it a good day!!!

I am reformatting my hard drive today but I will have some end of year notes later on.

We hang on. Luckily LR went for 2 after their early score in the 2nd half. They missed and then again on the next score. That made it impossible to tiw the game as they were in FG range at the end of the game.

My defense is definitely where I need to work. I have a nice offense, now I need to be able to stop people.

GG Cringer and GL in the playoffs.

Sorry, but you'll have to make it past us next year. I think we'll be in good shape. With our high draft status, we should really be able to improve the squad.

I cannot believe I lost that game. Hell was about to freeze over for the Firebirds.

My backup scenario also failed, and I can truly say that I cannot imagine hating a team for losing as much as I hate Cleveland right now :-)

                Ugh

According to the Power Rankings, record- wise I played the toughest schedule in the IFL. 8-8 isnt bad with that porous defense I had.

Didn't think we would pull that one out. "Machine Gun" McMurray seem to be taking target practice against our secondary. But we put enough point on the board to survive that attack.

Newark pooped all over my comeback plans and the defending Champs are no longer.

Congrats, Matt! Good luck heading into a tough pack of NC contenders.

Saints win but Vipers lose to the dreaded Hartford. Thankfully, we manage to keep a bye with the loss.

There were lots of upsets to league favorites this week which is not the right foot that a team wants to be launching their playoff drive from. I am liking the week off to correct the course for the Vipers.

Congrats, Warhammer on a great game ... the AC East should be rather exciting next year. I think division parity has finally come and it will be a gunfight to win it. As Iook down the road through my rose colored glasses, this season could easily be the Viper's swan song after winning seven division championships in eight years.
