  • Sending out some "still pissed"s...

Since the following thoughts come to mind often when perusing FOF and piss me off I figured I'd throw them out there to make the "other GMs" feel good about what they've got. Others feel free to piggy-back this thread if you've got some of your own. Here goes...

    Still pissed...

    1) That I chose someone whose name I can't remember over DE Johnnie Basille in a middle of the night wake up and switch my draft list based on weight and age, two things FOF doesn't consider.
    2) That Kim Cortez is higher rated than "The Leash" though it was never a toss-up in my decision making at the time.
    3) That I didn't take LT Lamont Shephard of Claws fame in the 2008 draft. He was a fully developed 57/57 at the time by my scout.
    4) That I didn't trade up for Brock Heath RT in last year's draft.

Such are some of the mistakes made by me in my history here.

    great topic for discussion.
I had have to say, without opening the game, my biggest dissapointment would be not finding a way to acquire RB Bucky Beaver. I've always loved that guy.
Another one on my list was Chad Richardson, who we acquired this year. He was one of the guys I was targetting during that first draft.
Another guy I remember wanting was G Bill Dronett. I chose WR Walter Walker instead, after much deliberation. The irony in the whole thing was that I chose WR Reuben Caffrey in like the 5th rnd. Caffrey's turned out to be on of the best WR's in that class. I traded him because of the depth I had in my WR corps.

Jester, Cortez is rated higher because he is better.

He might be the better tool but I get more built with mine.

          Still pissed:

1A. Not drafting Jay Caro in the 2005 draft. I was scared off by his low development number, it was in the single digits if i remember. Did not want to risk it with such high quality players available at the top of the draft.
1B. 2005 1st Round 4th pick QB Todd Terrell. Traded down and took Terrell instead of Caro. More of a sure thing, he stepped in early and played well. He was ready to break out in his 3rd year, and he did, literally, by blowing up his knee.
          2. WR Lionel Childers. After leading the league in recieving the year before, Lansing makes the bold move of aquiring Gene Hamilton. Childers proceeds to get his head knocked off in preseason week 4 and never comes to, dealing with repetitve concussion syndrome. Sherman Jarvis goes on to shatter every recieving record in IFL history. Imagine if Hamilton had Jarvis AND Childers to throw to..
          3. No matter what i try, i still cant formulate a good defensive gameplan

I can only laugh at that one, no come back.

I am pissed at the 2005 draft. I'm pretty sure I had like 2nd overall pick and I didn't draft Caro (although I had a QB at the time), and I felt I could have gotten MUCH more for that pick.

I'm also pissed at how Ambrose Jones, St.Clair, Timmerman, and Bice turned out for me. Timmerman was the only success out of that bunch. I traded Bice for peanuts, and Jones / St.Clair got destroyed from injuries.

I'm still pissed I can't figure out what Suicane sees in that WNBA player.

I was actually trying to get the #2 pick or #3 pick so I could've had Crespo and Caro. A man can dream can't he!!! I think Halbert went 2nd that year

There was a severe undervaluing of QBs in the IFL for a while IMO... or at the very least a misunderstanding of what attributes are important.

That's one area where I always respected Jeff. We agreed quite often on QB's if I remember correctly.
