Any chance of getting the draft rolling early? Unless Vito is going to trade his pick couldn't we just start a thread in the forums before we activate the draft utility? There could be no time limits and if someone doesn't want to make their pick, then they do not have to untill the 8th. It would at least give us something to do. FA is dead.

I'm with you Jave.. the sooner we can get the draft rolling, the better. However, we're dependant on outside assistance for the draft-utility and we have a new board (the old draft util was pretty well integrated with phpBB), so I don't know if there's going to be a problem this year.

I did see VPI among the visitors a few days ago though, so maybe he's had a chance to look at it .

Yea, I thought of that. But we could just start a thread right here. Draft round one. It's only a couple days, but we may be able to get 10 or more picks done. At least it would be something to talk about!!

Yeah, im all for starting it early if the guys holding the top picks dont mind making there picks early.

Sounds like Vito may be working out a trade that could involve the #1 pick maybe. So it may not get rolling at all right away.

I'm all for starting the draft early at a non-timed pace but I don't think there's enough notice here.

There's always trades and the draft goes in spurts. If I'd just signed on to see that we had started the draft and made it past a player that would've garnered "trade up interest" from me I'd have to drink some and post. And we saw the ugliness of that.

I know I happen to be picking late but I'm not the only GM with potential trades on the mind and I don't discount anything in the draft, including getting the #1 overall pick without a single draft choice going in. If we had a sign in thread and everyone posted that they were notified then I'd be all for it but even a single GM being unaware isn't worth starting early IMO.

Besides there's plenty to talk about. Have you heard that Colella switched teams?
