My two cents and I don't need any change.

I for one thought that this was one of the more fluid and interactive drafts that I have ever participated in (multiple leagues). I think that the inclusion of the chat room this year assisted that interaction immensely.

Also, Suicane spent endless and thankless hours to make it a good experience. Thanks.
A thanks also goes to Jeff for getting the utility the work ... the best in any league that I hav participated in.

The discussion to have a set time schedule for drafting is an approach that has some merit. I have been involved in those over in the USFL and they help to organize one's life around a multi-day draft. But in the end, those type of drafts provided little opportunity for owner interaction. Its design encouraged owners just show up and make their picks at their scheduled times. On the other hand ... I think what made this draft a great one was the interaction, the trading and the comraderie found in the chat room ... and that was priceless as they say in the commercials.

Everyone can appreciates day to day life commitments and that you can't monitor the boards 24-7. But for those of you who didn't try to take advantage of this year's draft, you missed a great reason why this league is such a good one. Except for the occasional hiccups when there was a pause in the action, the draft got an A in my book and I only picked 3 players!

i agree totally with rook. my involvement in the draft was limited to the 1st two rounds, so my activity level towards the latter part tailed off as i really didn't need to follow what was going on. still, for the 1st two rounds i was picking in this was a great experience and i would generally say a lot of the complaining was mostly nitpicking. we should only complain if we're going to go over our schedule or miss our deadline. the fact that we finished early most likely means a couple of us were a little too impatient.

I'm thinking that next year I might wanna try a hybrid. 3 hours for the first 2 rounds, 2 hours for the next 2 rounds and then timed 1 hour slots for the next 3 rounds.

This way the end of the draft can go in a timely fashion but everyone will know when they are picking.

I was very surprised how different the chat room is compared to the forums. I figured it's all just typing back and forth but the instant response of the chat room raised the bar on something. I'd like to have a certain "sunday time" that we try to meet up to recap the day's games but I know from experience that I watch the games at a much slower pace than most so usually get to the forums late.
