  • Gameplanning poll

I was curious how many here actually fiddle in depth, or just a little, with their gameplans. In FOF 04' I used to play with it on and off but I was really terrible at it. The year I went to the IFL bowl I was experimenting with it quite a bit the first half of the season and without going back to look at the actual record, lets just say, it was not pretty. So I got pissed off and just hit "recommend". Well that worked quite well has I only lost 2 games the rest of the year. I came within a minute of winning the IFL bowl so I was happy just continuing to just let the game do the gameplanning, but with 07' it seems there may actually be an advantage to sitting down and trying to figure out how to make the gameplan work for me.

I was just curious what percentage of owners actually work their gameplan, and do you see an advantage? Enough to warrant the hours spending trying to make it work? While we are in the middle of a season and I am not asking any owners to give away any trade secrets here, if you have any general advice to throw my way I would be curious to see what ya all think.

i hit recommend for Defense cuz i don't have the time nor passion to study other people's teams (except for Portland), for offense i tweak it just a little each week. as long as the right players put up the stats then i'm fine. winning or losing is a flip of the coin.

I do hit "Recommend" to begin with, but then tweak somethings dependent upon my opponent. I just cant bring myself to just leave things the way they are. Not in my nature.

I hit recommend and tinker on offense. Although this season I have found an offense I like.

Defnese is same. I hit recommend and change a couple things.

I tinker drastically on defense, but not so much on offense once I find an offense I like. But if a defense I'm going against is great at stopping something, I may go away from it offensively. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

I always change something up on both sides of the ball. Last week, some major tinkering with the offense. This week a lot more on the defensive side of the ball. It just depends. I cannot remember when I left one side the same.

Thanks for all the responses. I have decided since this seasons basically a wash I will start tinkering with both the offense and defensive gameplans. I got crushed this week but I think that has more to do with a lack of an offensive line and some other problems I was already aware of.

I think with the move to 07', the difference between winning and losing will be more gameplan based then pure talent. Better to learn now then have a great team talent-wise and get schooled by someone with a team that isn't as physically gifted, but did his homework off the field.
