I was doing a search in the IFL today and ran across a linebacker that seemed to be vastly overpaid. Turns out that he suffered a pretty serious injury and lost about half of his potential. This player is ILB Keith Gamboa of Pittsburgh. He tore a lateral knee ligament in a Week 4 matchup against Salt Lake City last season. He is approximately a 25/35 now and is due to be paid 2.4 million dollars this season.
I noticed a few other large rating drops that appear to be due to injuries. Newark's wideout Mikel Hutson suffered a ruptured abductor muscle against Lawrence in Week 9 and dropped around 20 current and potential points. One of what seemed like a dozen of Wichita's doomed quarterbacks was Brian McCalla. He suffered the same injury that Gamboa did in a game against St. Louis last year. He dropped around 15 current and potential. While he is an older quarterback, that seems like just too large of a decrease .
I'm sure there are some more, maybe less severe ratings hits out there. Any the rest of you noticed any on your team?
