Jester/Phantoms latest (temp GM?)

Well, I'll be leaving in 5-6 weeks (looking at around August 22nd) to go out West and I'll be selling my PC beforehand. I'll be taking my Macintosh so I'll be able to get back onto the forums as soon as I can get internet access but absolutely EVERYTHING except that I'll have clothes/car/iMac is unknown at this point.

As it stands my PC has been my "FOF box" ever since I got the iMac and I don't see myself buying a new PC anytime soon. A used one at a low price is not out of the question but also not at the top of my priority list based on the current situation.

As much as I dislike the thought of someone else touching the Phantoms it appears I've no choice. I think it's time for a temp (to perm if things go in that direction :cry GM to take over.

Any advice, thoughts, or suggestions for a specific temp GM? It's reasonable to figure that I'll be ready to go at some point before the next off-season so preferably I'd like someone who's interest is in game-planning and not trading away what I've managed to bring in.

Is it an Intel Mac? You can use the free beta of VMWare Fusion or get Parallels. FOF runs great on both of those. I'm running FOF on Parallels as we speak.

I was thinking of Parallels before but adding up the cost of Parallels and a copy of windows I figured it'd be better to just get a new low-end PC.

I think you can get XP and VMWare right now for $140 or so. I won't deny that that's a lot to play FOF, but I don't think you can get a new even low-end PC for close to that.

You could also check craigslist or something for a real cheap old comp, an FOF machine if you will. This comp is $80:

A lot to pay for FOF since the software itself isn't worth $140 but not too much for the IFL.

I'll definitely look into it once I'm settled.

For now I have to get a temp GM though as I realized in the past couple of days that although my heart is with the IFL my head isn't and I just don't have the urge to learn FOF 2007 at the moment. Had I experience with it already I could put a half hour or so into making a game-plan but I waited to learn it as we go and the timing couldn't be worse.

G.W.'s shown long-term interest in the IFL without even owning a team and has vowed to continue whole-heartedly our battle against arch-rival Newark and surprised management with a promise to make sure HA doesn't get lonely in trash talking land whilst I'm gone.
