  • Something to think of...

The IFL's only requirement for membership is a weekly export which offers (other GMs feel free to add to this list anything I miss):

    a statistical DB
    clockworkly updated league web page
    true 32 team competitiveness
    banter
    styles vs. styles
    personalities vs. personalities

I hate coming across as "when I was a kid we walked uphill both ways" but I've been in lesser leagues which required a game by game write up and EACH owner to have his own team web page and update that game by game as well.

Hopefully with the influence of a new game as well as a new season we can make 2010 a groundbreaking year as far as owner/GM contribution goes. Even if it's just a weekly "Lawrence is a bunch of assholes and the most over-rated team in IFL history."

And here's to the "behind the scenes" media personalities!!!!

Note: Don't judge your posts by their replies either. Check out the views. A lot of GMs just don't have anything to say on a particular subject but enjoy the read anyway. I feel like a broken record saying "nice writeup" to almost every press thread so I sometimes don't but I can say that I've read EVERY press thread (other than login fuckups which mess up my 'posts since last visit' calculations) since the IFL inception.

this league is awesome. It was my first FOF league, and will always be my favorite. The league history/lore is second to none. Thanks to Cringer who came up with a wacky idea to only do 1 game per week. This truly helps people identify with their players, other players, as well as the lore of the league.

The one game per also helps with rivalries. I love my division because it has always been so competitive (minus this year  ).

We also have a lot of dedicated owners. I even appreciate some guys who don't post but put in exports and build their teams.......ie. wolfpack GM. He's an original owner, who doesn't post but shows up here every day. Sure, we'd all like for guys like that to post shit, but I'd rather have league integrity because he's been here since the beginning.

Thanks for the fun here guys. It's been a great ride.

Yes, Cringer doesn't get enough residual "thanks".

ditto on all the posts above ...

Jester hit on the head with being a crowd pleaser ...

Also think Cringer gets alot of Kudos for the non-Gestapo type of atmosphere, & the slower pace (which I enjoy the best).

The resulting product speaks for itself.

That would get old quick if it was required.

It was a great league to be in while it lasted but I couldn't keep up the pace - only league I've ever been kicked out of... online anyway.
