IFL seniority

The talk of jeff's move from Oak to Por based on jave's return got me thinking (again as I had already thought this before): Should we/are we gaining any seniority during our tenure as GMs?

I think Jave going back to Oakland (with Jeff's consent) only made sense. He was "too Oakland" before his resignation to take over any other team.

Let me be open and say that I do have selfish reasons for this. I'd like to move in the coming months and if if/when my internet service gets fucked up and I have to leave the league I'd like "first dibs" after the next Phantoms owner after whoever takes over for me leaves.

What I propose is simply that the potential returning IFL GM with the most tenure with a certain team get bumped ahead of anyone on the IFL waiting list to grab control of his original team.

i agree with this. i also propose the league votes on it though, that way we don't have any scenarios like Jeff hopping from one good team to another without the league even being aware a certain team was available. i just want to avoid someone pulling out the commish card and deciding that when Jay Caro retires he's ready to move on to another team.

i think the league as a whole should vote who gets what team (outside of your IFL seniority idea).

drop the "jeff jumping from team to team". It's getting old. I think you're in the league for 1 team. Dedicate your efforts on one team.

Jeff has always had some love for Portland and that logo, going back to the erection (that's right) of this league.

I don't plan on it and will probably shamefully hold out ownership as long as possible even with no internet access but I have no plan so far and might just end up "packing and going" and figuring a lot out as it comes at which point I can see it being a while without internet.

Have no worries my bud brother. Just about anyone, if they are forced thru circumstances to leave, will always be welcome back when an opening comes up. With our pace, best case scenario if you have to be gone for a month or 2 is we get a temp owner. Worst case your at the top of the waiting list.

For my own situation I actually have someone that's willing, if league management allows, to take over my team when I can't and has been instructed to make no roster moves unless forced, to keep up my winning ways, and to avoid injury. :P

So this thread is only partially selfish in the even the league doens't allow my "self appointed temp replacement" to fly. The overall concept is the discussion I'm hoping to discuss... now allow myself to introduce... myself.(austin powers) :mrgreen:
