Yea from everything I heard Jim went kinda nuts here. I thought the 04' retirement was fine as is, and now it appears that a Bret Favre in his 11th year would retire even though he still has years in his tank. I don't like the idea myself. If a player has the ability and the desire, then he should return. There is no set date to retire unless you play 07' FOF.

There are four QB's in their 13th or later year: Willoughby, Morris, JC, and Chaplin. Chaplin will actually be 37 before the season is over.

The oldest non-kicker looks to be FA guard Adair, who will turn 38 during the preseason, while the oldest player is punter Aliberte who will turn 41.

I agree with that. Most retirements (ask Junior Say-owe - I can't spell that shit) are management decisions (as in all 32 teams lol) not player decisions. Of course I don't have enough data on FOF 2007 yet and if Peacock was the exception to an otherwise normal rule then that's all good.

I've wished for a while though in all football video games that 99% of the players don't retire until 2-3 years of sitting on the FA wire with no one calling.

From my understanding if you play a QB he will stay in the league a long time, i.e. 15 years.
