I wanted to maybe try and start a dialog about 2k7 SP. As I've stated in other threads there are parts of the game that are very annoying and I'd like to try and get some other points of view on how you play and percieve the game.
Some thoughts.
The game seems to be harder, but i'm not sure if it's harder because it's hard or just because it's annoyingly uneven. Case in point, there are seasons when I feel like I have an excellent team but ill go 8-8, 9-7, 7-9. I'll then look over the stats and see that my stud RB with excellent endurance nearly split carries with a scrubby backup. Stud has 4.2 ypc and scrub has 3.3 yet there are, nearly even in carries.
Random ups and downs. My QB drops 15 points in QB rating, the next season he rebounds but my stud RB drops to 3.7 YPC.
A good example of the baffling aspect of whats happening occured in the season I just played. I start 3-0 beating 3 teams that I was equally matched with. Week 4 I host a 0-3 team and am favored by 16. I lose 40-14. I had no significant injuries or anything, i just got lambasted.
And I see alot of this. I'll suck for 3 straight weeks against teams I should beat then i'll go on the road and beat a team considerably better than me. I guess my general complaint is that I never really feel like im playing a real football season. I dont beat the teams i should obviously beat often enough, and I don't lose to the teams I should easily lose to often enough, it's like every week is an adventure.
This is just anecdotal as I dont do ratings trackings or anything but i'm finding that when I interview and my scout views a guy as underated I tend to get a good amount of booms from those guys even if theyre orange bars arn't all that high.
Should note that I let my coach do all the depth chart and gameplanning, which as I've noted before turns into an adventure unto itself in certain regards.
Anyone else wanna share some thoughts?
