One GM's opinion: We don't have enough time to "sell the sizzle" on the Imperial Bowl. Whereas the NFL doubles their normal time between games (1 week) we have the shortest time of the season between the two most important weeks. I like the idea of the exports being due a while before the games are released to allow for whatever you've got in mind but wish we had more time before the game for some pre-game media hype and general banter.

I understand that and you aren't the first person to comment that we move thru the playoffs (and the IFL Bowl in particular) with a very brisk pace.

The thing is there aren't that many people interested in the playoffs. Only 12 teams participate and look at how few comment about anything going on at this point. Along with that there will be downtime for the conversion. From Week 17 to the first stage of the 2010 season will probably be around 3 weeks. That's quite a bit of time for guys to become disinterested.

This may or may not affect the thoguht process concerning the schedule, but I will be in transit from GTMO to Colorado Springs fromt he 9th of June to the 11th. . . I really want to get chugging on the DB as soon as the conversion is made. I think I'll scrap the offseason code in order ot concentrate on getting ready for week 1. .but there are some questions I have that will not be answered until the conversion is complete.

          Sad but true.

But I do wonder how much of that is actually caused by the speed, at least the Bowl itself. After all there are plenty of 3-4 day stretches of "dead air" on the forums during the season.

When exactly are we going to 2007? The stage after the IFL Bowl?

I'll link Saturday's files to Jim. 2010 will start in FOF 2007.

I always figure the fewer people involved, the faster we should go.

Well, I've thought about it and I can't say anything negative about someone's choice to follow the IFL only as long as their team's winning... but I sure as hell don't like it.

It's well known that last season was my first playoff appearance. What might not be well known is that I think I've only missed one IFL week since the league started - and that was a conference final that even as a bystander I thought flew by too quick.

Of course I'll be pumped up if I'm in the IFL Bowl but I think maybe only about 15-20% more than I'll be pumped up if I'm not in it. IT'S STILL THE IFL BOWL!!!!

After Thursday, you won't have a need to be around.

I'm always afraid of checking anything but the files once they're released for fear of spoilers but don't want to miss some of the great IFL Bowl stuff that might be planned. Can you guys be as descriptive as possible in the Thread Titles of anything planned?

There may be an audio show (scaled down version) but i'm not sure yet and probably wont be sure until Saturday evening. If there is one though the thread will be just a link and likely locked.

I knew I wasn't gonna come across clear. My fear isn't of seeing/hearing something before you guys release the files, but having the result of the game spoiled.

For instance an audio show that I could somehow time with the FOF Viewer (by simply adjusting the viewer speed) would be awesome if it was play-by-play (or some other form of progress) throughout the game. However if said audio segment started out "The Phantoms/Grizzlies game ended XX-XX today and this is how it happened...." I think I'd honestly start smacking my head against the wall.

I just don't want to open a thread thinking it's one thing and then "BAM!!" out of the corner of my eye I caught the score of the game. But also don't want to miss out on something great. I can remember one of the audio shows for the IFL Bowl in the past that I caught after watching the game and thought "this would've been cool as hell if I had heard this before knowing the score of the game".

                            Now I'm rambling...

lol, i understood you, you misunderstood me or maybe i wasnt clear. There will be a thread with a link to an audio show (if there is one) there will be no spoilers in it and there will be no spoilers on the audio show. You needn't worry.
