  • A Vulture licking his chops...

...or is it sharpening his talons?

In any case, just wanted to say hello to the IFL general managers and looking at the league, the IFL looks like a great one. I like that you guys play only one game a week or so.

I hope you won't mind me poking my head into the league's forum from time to time.

Did you bring gifts? Naked girls perhaps?
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

        A beantowner? Nice!

Welcome to the league assuming that you're on the waiting list for a team in the off-season. I'm about 20 minutes North of you - so is the Houston Renegades GM.

hey guys - thanks for the welcomes. i actually found a spot in another league, but i really like the IFL's setup, so forgive me if i poke my head in from time to time, just in case the other league doesn't work out for some reason.

I hear that. It's hard to juggle even two leagues at a time. Offseasons - especially - can be very time consuming for someone who pays as much attention to detail as I do.

The start of each offseason is an extremely exciting time in my life. The end off each offseason I've been out of my mind.

Now that I think of it since it can't be said enough....

Don't trade your stud players until they've been on the block for at least a week!

Every off-season it seems someone gets antsy and doesn't get their value's worth.

i only do one league. it raises the stakes cuz that means i only have one shot to have a good season. i think if you're in multiple league you would tend to gravitate towards the league where you have the best team in, and the ones where your team is like Boston or Wichita you give up after week 8 or so and just play for a high pick. not to say those teams do that here, just the temptation to not care seems it would be greater in leagues where you have a bad team. so i only allow myself one team and that's the one i devote all my time and energy to.

Well, sometimes a week is impossible. Probably shouldn't be if you have a plan thought out in advance. I would say that you should always allow at least 48 hours before trading a stud. That way a large majority knows what's up. Too many times have I seen guys get traded on the same day they were made available. I don't think that's such a great idea.

hey now thats enough picking on Wichita....just because im in more than one doesnt mean im not watching...

and for the record i have cut back to 5....and a high pick sux...who wants it...it just means more cap cost and no winning...my 1st rounders seem to always get hurt anyway...

I believe that often high 1st rounders should end up in the hands of one-position-away teams since the teams that initially have the high 1st rounders are many players away from a complete team and would do better to balance out the value of a high 1st rounder over a player and multiple picks or something of the sort.
