Mules have too get healthy fast. Pieced together secondary was abused last week. Hopefully the bye week will see more healthy bodies for the Mules, especially the secondary and OL.

I think you could make a good case for Jim Hickman as MVP at the halfway point. I realize that other players have better stats. However, the difference between my team this year and last year at this point is incredible. We are the #2 running team, but also the #11 passing team. We're 7-1 and we just got through beating Houston in Houston. We're leading the AC East at the halfway point (and currently hold the tie-break over Norfolk).

Grant Hernandez is making a case for ORoY. He hasn't put up dazzling stats, but has over 300 yards as a backup RB. That's pretty darn good in 8 games.

        Other thoughts:

The addition of Wortham has really added a lot of depth to the LB corps. Now, if someone gets injured, we can bring in Jonathan Leong at OLB, and he has 3 sacks in a back up role. At ILB, we can bring in Boyer as a starter if need be.

Joseph Alsup has had a better year than he had last year at CB, but unlike last year, probably will not be named to any All-IFL teams.

Our average YPC and YPA against are terrible for our team. However, these stats are skewed by how we've performed. If you look at our 3rd down defense we are stellar, and our total points against is one of the best in the league. Additionally, our total yards against is quite low. I think teams are gashing us late in games for big yards once we have a big lead.

This is something we definitely do not want to see. That said, I have a big decision to make with both Hickman and Flemming for that game.

My team decided to have one of those underachieving years it seems. At least I have 3 2nd rounders in 2k7 draft where you can actually find very good starters. The overhaul this offseason won't be fun or cheap.

very funny. Will be interesting to see how Scott's injury impacts the next couple games for us. The 1st half saw too many losses by a very small margin. Lot of bad luck for Wichita. We could put together a nice run in the late part of the season.

BTW you didnt send the thank you note for beating CLE and holding them down to give you the chance to win the division.

After yesterday's games I've got a 2 game lead on the division and, sadly, next week's game has a "big fuckin' deal" lack of luster on it. The NFC East usually has a minimum of 3 teams fighting it out at this point and as I've always said that's how I like the season to go. While this is shaping up to be my most successful season so far, it's also looking to be the least exciting.

FWIW - Phantoms will be re-setting our own total offensive yards record this season!

there are no offensive standouts on my team. i don't know how we've won 3 games not having a player in the top 10 in any offensive category. my team can't win by a blowout - everything has to be these close games that could be won or lost on the last possession. it's bullshit, really. still, i don't think you can say the Heroes are in the bottom 3rd in the league, i think we've crossed the line into mediocrity, which is a decent step.

My team lacks consistency. One week we have a running game the next week we dont. One week we light up the scoreboard, the next we suck. One week we slow a team down the next, we play like swiss cheese.

Mid season thoughts? My team outside of 1 great run has consistenly been underachieving overachievers. Maybe thats me, maybe it's the talent assembled, I dunno.

My franchise Guard has been decimated, my QB has never lived up to his hype, my defense is more stressed than a fat ladies victorias secret panties.

I ought might should have rebuilt previously to this season.

Mules at 5 Ws already have the third best season ever. According to my master plan NEXT year is the year the Mules are supposed to be a top 10 team, but I am not complaining.

This seasons draft has been dissappointing. The big Mule-Fire trade probably put the Mules ahead of my rebuild schedule. Probably my arse I know it did.
