TRIVIA BYTES SUPER SEVEN - Week 6
With the short week and games that will be played on Thursday, TB is publishing an early edition of the games.
SAME OL' SONG
 #7 - West Virgina (0-5) vs. Bye Week . West Virginia is the only team that does not have a win this year. Even though the Beasts will not get their long awaited victory this week, they anxiously will accept the next best thing ... they are assured of not getting another loss!
---------------------------------------------------------
SURPRISES? - POP GOES THE WEISEL
 #6 - Lansing (4-0) at Dakota (2-3) . Dakota has lost QB David Humphrey for the season and will start an unknown. Unknown backups have seemed to do very well this year. Lansing better keep their guard up.
 #5 - Madison (3-2) at Vancouver (2-3) . Madison is looking to continue playing the music after handling Oakland last week. Vancouver has had alot of close games this year and can very easily surprise the Power if they don't focus in this short week.
---------------------------------------------------------
DIVISIONAL CLASSIC SOUNDS
 #4 - St. Louis (2-3) at Houston (5-0) . Throw away the records in this classic divisional match-up. Powerful Houston looks to be a tad bit more vulnerable than expected after its OT win over Boston. St. Louis, at full strength, brushed off the cobwebs in their loss to Hartford, where their returning starters showed a little bit of rust. Houston leads the series 7 wins to 6 losses and there is no love lost here.
 #3 - Newark (3-2) at Lawrence (3-2) . How important is this early season divisional clash? With NFC wild card berths as hard to find as rain in the desert, winning the East Division is more important than ever. Newark will probably sideline Spicy Sante and replace him with the Burger King, Dwight "King" Burger. They just hope that this King doesn't try to imitate the other King's commercials on TV. So what can Lawrence expect ... lets sing it all together now ... CRESPO, CRESPO and more CRESPO. On the other side of the field, Lawrence raced back on track last week with a 45-9 thrashing of Texas. QB Bernard Rockwell, who replaced Tobias Stanfield, threw for 354 yards and 5 TDs. Take this and mix in the additional bad news that Newark received last week. Landon Marshall, Newark's All-League 1st Team OLB in 2008, is also listed as out for the game. Both teams are 3-2, both are pretty banged up, and both need this win badly ... so we think that this one will be a great one. Newark leads this series 8 wins to 4 losses.

A NATIONAL CONFERENCE ANTHEM
 #2- Pittsburgh (4-0) at Oakland (3-2) . Pittsburgh brings its undefeated record to the hell of Oaklands' fury. Last week Oakland lost an away game to Pittsburgh's division mate, Madison. The Devil's are sick and tired of the NC North and have plans to return the home-town cooking as they will host this game.
The game will feature a Power defense that leads the league in allowing the fewest points scored against them. That defense will try to stop Oakland's aeriel attack of Hamilton, Bice and Martinez which is now also supported by a very potent running game, compliments of RB Rico Bailey & Gaston Lomelli and FB Mathew Meyer. That trio lead the league in average yards per rush at a healthy 4.68 yards per rush. Don't miss this one ... you won't be disappointed.

AN AMERICAN CONFERENCE SYMPHONY
:!: #1- Cleveland (4-1) at Portland (4-0) . AFC North and West divisions leaders will weave the notes that just may end with the a cymbal clash.
Cleveland has been a surprise this year. After losing their first game, they have now reeled off four straight victories, against middle of the road competition. They will quickly find out how good they really are when they visit the Seals on Thursday. Second year QB Reuben Walton, who inherited the reigns of the Claws offense late last season has had a good start. Completing 62% of his passes, with 10 TDs and 3 INTs, he has a shiney 98.8 QB rating. WR Daniel Williams has been his main connection and claims 5 of the TD catches. On the other side, Brice Groth is a very capable 2nd target for Walton.
Cleveland's talent on defense has been capable to the task but on paper is suspect. That is not a good thing because Portland's QB Jay Caro is on the other side of the ball. He has conducted the number one scoring offense like an orchestra. Can this defensive group (that still has alot of question marks unanswered) be ready for a man that leads the league with a 111.8 QB rating?
What we think for sure is that this will be a high scoring game. To make things even more interesting, Cleveland and Portland also have very capable kick returners. With a high scoring affair, Cleveland's Zack Marek or Portland's Gilbert Fonseca may just get an opportunity to return one all the way.
This game provides sweet music for anyone's ears.
