Has any MP league seen honorees yet? Does the change to 2007 cause some type of restart of the waiting period? Anything at all for someone who's interested yet never seen it actually function?

players that are elgible this year only played for one year. . they would have to have a hella impact in that first year to be considered. You wouldn't have more than 1, maybe 2 players.Originally posted by MattIt's a 5 yr waiting period right? Would we be responsible if we thought about voting in a class this year?
2009 - 2 players from 2004
2010 - 2 players from 2005, 1 legacy player
2011 - 2 players from 2006, 1 legacy player
2012 - 2 players from 2007, 2 legacy players
2013 - 3 players from 2008, 2 legacy players
2013 - 3 players from 2009, 2 legacy players
and on and on.
I can't see no more than 5 players a year, but I think you need to have a bigger player pool in order to vote quality players in. This would equal about a 13% enshrinement rate for first year elgibles, but the legacy players should pick up any worthy stragglers.
Also, there should be a mininum number of votes as well. There shouldn't be 3-4 players all with like 2 votes. I'd rather see the HoF slot go empty.
This could be avoided by setting up a HoF committee. Say three owners that can widdle the field to 4 for 2004. of course with only 11 options in '04, it really doesn't make much difference. it will when we have a legacy class of over 100 though in a couple years. And 2009 saw 29 retirements, the highest yet.
# of players retired per year
2004-11
2005-17
2006-23
2007-21
2008-26
2009-29
That is 127 players that have announced their retirement total. There are also a couple hidden gems, like C-Dog, who had one hall of fame worthy game, and then just faded to the background. Since he was not on a team when he retired, there is no transaction for it.2005 AC North Division Champions
