How does everyone feel about there staff?

I feel like I upgraded my OC and HC a decent amount. I am still trying to figure out why Steve Barber signed as an OC with SLC (I think that was who it was...) even though I offered $400,000 more for him as a DC. I got a great scout, granted he sucks with young talent, but is good across the board otherwise, except at QB, where he is average. I think this is a step up above my previous scout. My HC have increased ability at Motivation, VG to Excel., went from avg. Off. Playcalling to Excellent, and has an Excellent injury rating, up from Good.

My OC was a good pickup, good across the board except at kickers (average) plus he is young, so he should get better.

Given my roster, I think a big problem that I had last year was the offensive playcalling. The defense has enough studs to keep games close. I just need a little pop on offense, with my starting QB going down last year, I needed a great playcaller to make things go. I think I have that now. With an influx of some young talent needed I think I have the right coordinator in place on both sides of the ball for this season, as I still have one more year before I need to rebuild my secondary.

Only thing that sucks is I didn't get Steve Barber at DC...

I felt the same way about my head coach not being adequate at offensive playcalling. In fact, he was as bad as it gets in that rating – poor. So I went out and got the best offensive mind that was available in Marty Pearson. Motivation and discipline are the next-most important ratings to me as well and he’s very good at both.

I signed two new coordinators as well (funny I canned all four staff members from a team that was one win from the Imperial Bowl). Youth wasn’t a factor in any of my decisions, money most definitely was as I signed Marty Pearson to the biggest contract of all. I had to sign two guys that weren’t going to be chased by other bidders, but were going to be so-so additions as well.

My scout is good enough to me in all the positions at which I’m trying to build on. He’s excellent in evaluating kickers and that was what stood out to me most of all.

I was thinking about a new D-Coordinator. . but decided not to blame my record on the coaches. . and just put the blame on myself for ignoring DTs in the draft. . .

        Worst Sack total 18 Sacks
        3rd worst Rush D 150.8 y/g
Worst yards per carry 4.52 y/c

On the other hand, I led the league in T/O margin with +14. . So the holes are squarly in the front at DTs. . and to a lesser extent at OLBs

Plus I had that misconception that 2 good ILBs could make up for a so-so NT in the 3-4

I think we did alright we didn't get the guys we wanted but I think we upgraded from what we had. I would of liked to have signed Donnel Mills instead of Rappaport as head coach but I didn't know he'd be available.

Mills wasn't available. He's just showing how his ratings increased from the previous year.

Edit: Okay, I'm dumb. I see that Warhammer even mentions that he upgraded his HC in the very first sentence. It's getting late here...zzzzzzzzzz

One thing I don't understand is why Vanouver signed Donaldson at head coach instead of Off. coordinator. Do is developmental skills come in play as head coach?

Okay, I see now. I guess I was just way zoned in on Pearson. I actually made a spreadsheet that turned the descriptive values like 'good' to point values. Then I made formulas with the numbers. Of course I only used guys whose contracts had ran out or those who didn't have one in the first place. Who did Mills coach before then? 11-8 record.

Kind of funny, I was looking at Rappaport as well after Parmaletter got snatched. Then again, I was not going to pay the outrageous amount of money he got! What was it, $6 Million a year?

Yup my coach got snatched up for 6 mil a year. Well see how much it effect my team. I would have to get rid of my o and d coordinators to keep him...
