  • Cohesion: Overrated?

I noticed my levels of chension have been placed in the public eye. I looked at it and notice that it sucks. Oh well, who cares. I didnt have a receiving corp anyway. So i will take a super star WR who can learn to love my QB. My DBs were ok but i didnt have a safety to speak of. So crappy cohesion(which im sure i would have anyway) and good talkent is what i will surviv with.
And why would my OLines cohesion suck? I need to look at that.
    GO COWS.....screw cohesion

I had to give up my starting center of 5 years before last season. My cohesion rating dropped after that. Four of my first five games Dixon had a ypc of under 3.0. Part of that is talent level dropping off too, but I would say cohesion is part of it.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

        I wasn't sure how important cohesion was, then last off-season HA added [ifl]Alton Filmore[/ifl], [ifl]Jose Gilpin[/ifl], [ifl]Scott Daniels[/ifl], [ifl]Johnny Ingraham[/ifl], [ifl]Lazaro Venegas[/ifl], [ifl]Elijah Eddington[/ifl], and [ifl]Larry Deason[/ifl] to a team that went 7-9, and finished last season 3-12-1.

do I put too much stake in cohesion? I won't upgrade a position unless it is a major upgrade. . .I am still starting the Oline I drafted in 03.

My entire secondary is the same. I could upgrade my CBs, but will a ten point increase beat out the damage to cohesion? I know I will have to find out eventually, but I am afraid. . .

Pittsburgh's entire initial offensive line from '03 has had a career ending injury (one that either destroyed ratings or brought him down 20 pts or more):

            LT [ifl]Seymour Carter[/ifl] '06
            LG [ifl]Charles Weil[/ifl] '04, '06
            C [ifl]Tristan Vigil[/ifl] '08
            RG [ifl]Ed Geer[/ifl] '04 w/ CBA
            RT [ifl]Scott Vannoy[/ifl] '05

In 5 drafts Pittsburgh has used 5 first round picks on offensive linemen.

I wouldn't put any stock into the current cohesion numbers. There aren't any starting lineups to take into account and if I remember correctly cohesion is only a read on the the starters.

Cohesion ratings are a measure of how well a group of players on a team learns new plays and implements the existing playbook.

The ratings affect both on-field performance and the team's ability to improve its expertise ratings during training camp.
There are no starters named before training camp, and the game uses those cohesion ratings to influence the development of players.
