There is no love loss between myself and SLC, however, I will say this. Thats one thing about FOF I can't stand. In reality, there was no reason for Palmateer to leave SLC. He has a great team, makes good money, and has the support of the fans. I am sure SLC offered him a good contract. It appear Har had more cash to offer, but in reality, that is NOT the only thing a coach looks at when deciding weither or not to resign with a team.Palmateer, T.J. HAR --- hired as head coach
I wish Jim would fix this aspect of the game. Because having your head coach signed away from you because they could offer a tad more cash isn't realistic and flawed. At the very least, offer a one week opportunity for the coach to have a chance to resign him before he just leaves.

/agree. Although when I lost the bid in week 3 on the coach I was after, it was the computer that signed me Hatcher, who has been brilliant. Go fiqure. Who knows how this game works.Originally posted by JeffI have a feeling that I'm going to get screwed in the behind tomorrow. Someone will outbid me and the CPeeEww will sign some bloody wanker for me as staff hiring ends.

New head coach in Little Rock, the first time that has happened. Chris Kelly, the old fart, has not been brought back. Sammy Harvey, who spent 5 years as the Boston HC, has been brought in despite his record. He gives us an upgrade on defensive playcalling, something I wanted (and hope matters).
New offensive coordinator too. Justin Harden is out, another old fart. Nate Cromwell comes over after 5 years in Hartford, and gives us better ratings at QB and OL.
Now to see if I can get a defensive coordinator or not. I am sure the guy I am going after will be snagged by someone else. Need to figure out if I want to try for someone else or not....My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

Crap, do I need a new OC?
ARGH!
Jave, look at what happened last stage though, Rappaport was offered significantly more money by Newark and he stayed in ANC.

Thats another one of those mysteries. For the record, I offered Palmateer a 5 year, $5,570,000 deal and he obviously turned me down. So I think it's interesting that money was the main factor in his hiring. Not to insult Hartford, but they are not that good a team, and the fact he turned down everyone to coach there, tells me it was just a money thing with him.Originally posted by WarhammerCrap, do I need a new OC?

Or you can point to your overall record last year which is what I was referring to. 9-7 if I am correct. It's not personnal, I was talking business. 9-7 isn't exactly lighting it up. The point was, if I were a coach, I would go to a job that paid well, had good community support, and had a good roster already intact. If you judge a team on these standards, then SLC is indeed far better off the Hartford. You just had more cash. Good for you.Originally posted by WarhammerI think I'll just point to the score of our last game...Originally posted by JaveThats another one of those mysteries. Personally, I wished that Palmateer would have found another division to coach in. Now I am anxious to see who they team up with him as their Offensive Coord.

Second, yeah, that 9-7 team that was a 2 minute collapse away from sweeping the IFL champs this year. We played most of the season without our starting QB, etc., etc.
That 9-7 is awfully misleading, our only bad losses were to a Reno team that had no business beating us and a Portland team that matched up well against us. Our losses were to: Boston, Reno, Norfolk, Albuquerque, Portland, Anchorage, and Salt Lake City. Two bubble playoff teams, one mediocre team, and the rest were playoff teams, not a bad slate of losing teams. Plus, two of those games we should have won...
I think we only have two players from our starters that are not under contract, one of which is going to be franchised.
