Same I believe. I haven't played the game in over a month, but I am sure it is exactly the same. That was one of my disappointments.

I think they should allow you to hire other team's co-ordinators to HC's. Allowing you to re-sign your coach before other teams isn't really fair. You could be stuck with a shitty coach for a long time.

That's true and you make a good point about the co-ords. If he really wanted to fix the coaching system, it would take a bit of work. IMO, an ideal coaching system would be something along the lines of..


(some of these are in the game already)
a. All coaches progress and regress

b. Coaches come from various places including ex-players, if ex-players, there is a link to their player card page. If college, state which one and possibly some records (for immersion mostly).

c. All coaches have a 'mentor' skill, which gradually increases as they age, but can increase quicker (but not too quick) if mentored by a high rated mentor (think Parcells to Belichick to Mangini, etc).

d. Co-ords increase their ratings (not just mentor rating) quicker with a solid mentor HC. This way if you have the Belichick of the league, your co-ords are likely to develop quicker into HC material and they can be offered contracts for HC positions, or even other co-ord positions but the compensation rules apply if still under contract.

e. Coaches can be re-signed before they hit the open market, but like stated in (d), you have the ability of 'stealing' another coach by offering them a very nice contract + offer the draft pick compensation.
