In less than 24 hours we begin our 6th trek into the postseason with 4 exciteing matchups.
Game 1: Albuquerque At Anchorage
Less than a month ago the Lynxx were considered Imperial Bowl favorites, now not so much. It's been a tale of 2 months as the Matadors are hitting their stride while Anchorage has had theirs broken.
You'd have to give the Lynxx the advantage thanks to homefield but this is a huge rivalry game and anything can happen.
Once again however you can see the writing on the wall as the AFC West continues to do so much beating up on each other that you wonder if a deep playoff run is in store for either of these teams.
Game 2: Houston At Iowa City
An intrigueing matchup as the up and coming Renegades suffered a heartbreaking setback at the end of the season, losing out on the AFC South title and being forced into a Wild Card matchup on the road. They square off against a team with a checkered playoff history, losing their only 2 previous playoff games.
These are 2 talented teams and it may come down to whose head is in it more. One thing to keep an eye on is the weather. It'll be cold and snowy in Iowa City on Sunday so look for the running games to be the key focus as Wilford Timmerman and Aubrey Beamer try and carry their respective teams loads.
Game 3: Lawrence At Tulsa
2 teams new to the Playoff season but each with an explosive offense that could provide for a classic NFC style matchup.
Tim Austin has carried the Cows all year and he will surely be looking to make a statement on Sunday as well as thru the rest of the playoffs.
On the other side of the ball the Phantoms have finaly cracked the playoff glass ceiling and you know that Stanfield and Romano are looking to bring their potent attack to the national stage. RJ Kley is taking stopping Tim Austin about as personaly as possible and this is gonna be another very intrigueing matchup. This one should be a barnburner.
Game 4: Oakland At Salt Lake City
Crikey Doodle, my head is gonna explode. How many times can 2 teams and 2 owners meet with so much on the line?
Both these teams bring powerfull offenses and fun sense of wanting to annihilate the other.
I'm not sure homefield advantage is all that big a factor in this one as by now these 2 teams just seem to go out and battle. I don't think it would matter if they were playing on the moon.
One things for certain, any Oakland/Salt Lake City matchup is never boring and this game should provide a hell of a nightcap to Wild Card Weekend.
