I'm entirely too excited to wait 2 more days. I'm hoping, as are a bunch of others I'm sure, that this is the season my team puts it all together. 48 hours can't pass fast enough, let the games begin

Not trying to be a dick here but doesn't WV need to get under the cap? If they don't, do we just go with the "in game" draft pick loss? Or is there going to be a more valuable pick lost. I think the in game pick loss is a 3rd rounderNEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

No joke, nothing to base your opponent's gameplan off of, so do you guess that he'll skew more towards the run or pass and risk getting burned? Or do you play it safe and go balanced and risk getting overpowered by a stacked run or pass game? All part of the chess match
Can't wait for tomorrow morning.

I too can't wait for tomorrow. Bring it on.
The Vipers host the dreaded Hartford Grizzlies in Norfolks newly renovated stadium that now features club seating. Hope we pack it tomorrow & give the team a great send-off into 2008 season ...
but preparing the first game plan, as said above, is just a shot in the dark ...

This is a weird situation, one that I hope we can avoid in the future. First off, the game won't be taking any picks. That only happens before and after FA-1 I think. Technically, the computer caused West Virginia to go over the cap. Of course it's the chicken and the egg deal, because poor cap management led to the computer making moves in the first place.Originally posted by MattNot trying to be a dick here but doesn't WV need to get under the cap? There isn't really anything in the current constitution that covers this situation and anything added now would be after the fact. I think it's best to let luis move forward without any obstacles. I can assure you that the League Administration will be better prepared for a situation like this in the future. A tighter (yet very similar) constitution is already in the works."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

I agree. I don't see a benefit for the Beasts this year. Luis is just trying to field a team after making a few very big mistakes.Originally posted by JeffThis is a weird situation, one that I hope we can avoid in the future. But, if a team with 53 players, and a very solid roster, and a shot at winning, goes over the cap, they need to lose more than a 3rd rounder. This is actually cheating. In my opinion anyway.2005 AC North Division Champions

One rule that I'm already adding is that teams must be under the cap by the end of the first part of free agency. Besides preventing teams from circumventing the cap, it also prevents teams from losing draft picks in the middle of the draft. That would leave us with a sticky situation as it's entirely possible that a pick that has already been used (in the util) could be taken away in the game."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

You gonna ask for a vote on this? Or are you just adding rules unilaterally? Just curious.Originally posted by JeffOne rule that I'm already adding is that teams must be under the cap by the end of the first part of free agency.
And are there going to be any rules for staff?

I read that wrong the first time. I at first thought you meant by FA-2. That's a little draconian, but by Late FA, is less so.Originally posted by JeffOne rule that I'm already adding is that teams must be under the cap by the end of the first part of free agency.
I'm not big big on league rules that alter in-game rules, so that's why I'm curious as to whether any new rules are going to be taken to a vote. They should be. Not only to get a consensus, but to make everyone aware of them, too. You can post them all day long but that doesn't mean people will be aware of them. But if they're asked to contribute an opinion, they will be much more in tune with whatever you're adding.

Judging by Jeff's posts about rules for the past 2 years, I'm pretty sure that he's only going to implement rules where absolutely needed. It won't be like some leagues that have so many damn rules it's almost illegal to submit an export.Originally posted by P. LuxxI read that wrong the first time. I at first thought you meant by FA-2.
