i have to say, i'm very pleased with how this league acts during the draft. for such an uber elite league, IHOF is reduced to a bunch of whiny, crying faggots who stomp their feet everytime you delay the draft for more than 30 minutes. they even have a thread where you can let people know when you're going to be away from the PC and still they bitch.
this is a very laid-back atmosphere, and it goes to show that you don't have to cry or whine to show how much you care. congrats, guys.
The problem over there is its always the same guys holding up the draft. Those guys never stock their utility, are never working on any deals, etc. They just don't give a damn about the rest of the players in the league.
Now when everyone was getting on your case about it, I thought it was completely uncalled for. I mean you found out you were running the draft what, a couple hours before you had to make a pick? Not like you could make a draft list without first looking at the team and who was available, etc., etc.
I have always enjoyed the people over here far more than the guys over there. Everyone here is welcome, over there, unless you are in the click, every move you make is questioned, every reason you have for doing something is gone over with a microscope, etc., etc.

wow, an IHOF member who isn't an elitist prick with assholish tendencies towards non-clique participants. impressive.
IFL is waaay more my vibe, even as a place to post non-IFL related stuff. VPI is a helluva commish and IHOF has a handful of solid guys but overall there's a large element of the league that has thin-skin and once you rub a guy the wrong way you're blacklisted. not that i think you guys want to hear my IHOF stories, but i was just amazed at how i was treated when i helped albion out - i haven't been in IHOF for 1.5 years. you would think even if i rubbed people the wrong way 1.) they'd have laid off me considering i was helping the league out on short notice and 2.) let things remained buried. i also thought it was rather presumptuious of them to think that i was trying to get back into the league by helping albion out. like i would dump IFL, a league that treats me great, in a moment's notice just for the privilege of being allowed back in. people forget i left of my own accord, i wasn't kicked out. i need not feel ashamed or dance around on eggshells. anyway my point is how sensitive are some of those guys that some words i wrote over the internet a looong time ago affected them so negatively that they had to resume acting like an ass towards me? i must be more potent than i thought if these people were so victimized/terrorized by my posts.
anyway, IFL is a good league. once i finish my fantasy football draft video project for my friends i'm gonna do my part to add more content here.
Heck, I've been on the outside looking in on that league even though I have been there for 2-3 seasons. Everytime I have made trade offers, I have basically been laughed at for wanting as much in return, but yet the same people give up more to another team for less in return. All because I am not in the clique. It's frustrating because Bucc and I still talk a bit about the team, and he doesn't understand why I don't make more trades and it's all because he was in the clique and I'm not.
Look at all the talk about the Reinke contract over there. I had plenty of cap room, needed offensive talent, and was able to produce a more consistent (although the raw numbers are about equal) offense and improved my win total by 3 games, and could have had a winning season had some breaks gone my way (lost 3-4 games on the last drive or in OT), yet the move is still thought of as a bad move simply because I was the one who got him. Forget that three other teams were offering very close to what I did.
I enjoy the league over there, but some people's elitist attitudes drive me absolutely up the wall. Half of the reason why some players do as well as they do is all the talent in that league, if half of your roster is 60+ ratings, you're going to do well. I'd like to see what a lot of those guys would do in this league where everyone doesn't have a 70+ rated QB with 2 70+ rated WRs. That said, in another season or two, a lot of those guys are going to have rude awakenings as a lot of the original talent in the league retires or begins to have ratings hits.
I don't get a lot of respect over there as a coach, but I would defy anyone over there with the exception of Senator to get the results I have gotten with the same talent. Especially, with the talent I had on defense last year.

PS. I'm just pissed that Reinke didn't take my contract offer. I think he is a good player and I even featured him in my FA article way back when.
You're closer than I am.
I enjoy the league, I just hate how clickish it can be. Plus, I just get sick of all the attitude that I get about how I run the team. I have an outline I am following and the team is slowly rounding into form. I was able to turn the Grizzlies around a lot faster than the Outlaws because of the cap situation. Now that the Outlaws are out of cap hell, the turnaround will be much faster.
Plus, you're team is really going to be scary good if they play to their ratings. This year, I think our division is going to surprise some people.

1. Rico Bailey, RB, Georgia - Touted as the next big Imperial star from Georgia. This Bulldog has been waiting three years to start and has been banged up some this year now that he finally got his chance. He has the talent though, and may be a better pass catcher then runner because of his size (5-10, 198lbs). Rated 81/99.
