I'm curious why you (it appearsto me anyway) think this reflects badly on Tart instead of great on Allan Ho.

BTW - If Jared Mulcahy had 29 more completions he'd be ahead of Caragena in yards (I know he'd still have the 21 INT's ).

Where did I say this reflects badly on Tart. He had a good season so did Ho. I'm just saying Tart wasn't as stand out as Cartagena.

    I'll explain for you though.

    Tart has 1799 yards
    Ho has 1676 yards /w 4.5yrd average
    Difference 123 yards
    30 x 4.5 = 135 so Ho would actually be ahead

    Cartagena has 4423
    Mulcahy has 4031 /w 7.95 average
    Difference 392 yards
30 x 7.95 = 238.5 Mulcahy would still be behind, plus the int problem
Just to clarify, I wasn't debating your choice for offensive player of the year as I respect your opinion and this was a very tough year to choose. I was just wondering why having an equal would deminish a player by your way of thinking. I took the "but" after the "Tart put up some nice numbers, " to mean that you felt his value/performance dropped due to Ho's play.

And I used 29 "completions", not attempts, in my Mulcahy/Cartegena example. :P
If I remember correctly (I did the math the other night) Mulcahy averages 13.6644 per completion.

Hanover is reporting for duty today no doubt. Good job, sir!

Remember this isn't some offensive MVP award, Keith, it's offensive player of the year. Talking about supporting casts and Tart having to carry the load, shit.. all I hear is whah whah whah.

I am surprised so far that so many have gone the way of voting Cartagena, I thought I would be one a a handful. I guess I was wrong in figuring Tart had it locked up.

Why is that exactly? I was telling Vito that Julian was just getting warmed up this year. I predict much better things from him next season - mark my word.

Ill trade ya Charles Yon, he's very good at throwing TD passes to him. :P

Nah, in all seriousness I thought Tart deserved the MVP, it was close, but I thought Tart deserved it.

                Ack!

But this isn't the MVP or the Offensive MVP, it's offensive player of the year. Next we'll be voting for MVP and I'm sure Tart will be getting plenty of votes.

The coolest thing is all the debate. That is why it is so great to have these public votings for awards. The only thing I would add would be that it is not fair to project out what a player would have done had he more touches. That is faulty reasoning because it didn't happen. Kind of like saying Culpepper is on track for 54 TD's and he going to shatter records. Two bad games later and he is not projected anymore. You have to look at what is and not what could have been. I think you could go either way very easily. I voted for Tart. In my opionion he was the offense of that team. Happy voting and debating.

I'm holding out for the game to give my argument some weight. I've known FOF to QB-biased in the past BUT I think James Tart will win the MVP and OPY. I just think he did more with less---it's my opinion
