So I have a bye-week, and advance from third to first in the division.. interesting... even more interesting.. we'll see if Irby's form stays at this level next week.. I think gameplanning against the pass could be a key-factor..

Just a bit of inside info for anyone who looks at the Reno-Little Rock game. Both teams agreed to play with only 8 players on defense. :P

This was a crazy game. I don't like being in shoot-outs and this was my second of the year. My defense has always been pretty strong, so to be in two big shoot-outs in the first half a the year worries me. Atleast I won this one.

I wrote this stuff down since I have not seen anything like this in a game one of my teams was involved in. This game was big-play central. (I define big plays here as 10+ yard runs and 20+ yard passes)

10+ yard runs, both teams combined - 12. 3 of these were over 20 yards, one of which was 60 yards and another 37 yards.

20+ yard passes, both teams combined - 8. 2 of these were 40 and 45 yard TD passes by Reno with under 3:00 left in the game.

In the 4th quarter the Toads also had an 88 kickoff return for a TD, and of course the required shoot-out last second win which was a 20+ yard TD pass by Given I think.

Given had 5 TD passes. This ties the league record for a single game (5 other guys have had 5 before, SLC's Booker did it twice). Given had 4 in one game once, two seasons ago, so tis sets a team record. He was great in this game, his best performance ever I would have to say (regular season anyways).

Dixon ran for over 100 yards, he hadn't done that since he got 100 even in week two. Nice to get that done.

Still, I keep going back to how many points I gave up. 40, and in week one 41 to Texas. I just checked and the most points a Toads team had ever given up in a game was 31 points in the 4 previous seasons of this league. 40+ twice this year. :x Did DT Frank Wideman mean that much to my team?

My bad, great game Reno. Your offense was great!

        Other things...

Irby throws for over 500, nice. He had not thrown for over 300 all year. Nice way to break that barrier.

TE Webster of the Matadors has two receptions for 95 yards. Not too shabby.

Does WR Olin Holst like his new home in St. Louis? The team is sucking, but at the same time he should pass his season totals of last year with just one more game. Half the games for the same numbers.

If things keep going like it is for some guys, atleast 4 QBs should have over 4,000 yards passing this year. Last year we onlyhad one guy. The record is 4 guys, set in 2005. I think we will end up with a good 5 or 6 guys this year.

Anyone heard from Scott Fortune? WV's Kersey looks like the best rookie RB. Then again, West Virginia doesn't have much else on offense.

I think I figured out the real reason Madison is back to being on top of the NFC North. K Pickett is kicking ass again. He is 21-21 on FGs. He only hit 73% last year.

I wish we could modify the playoff system in this game. If we could, before the playoffs every year I think I would have a NFC East playoff. The winner gets into the normal playoffs.

Trevor McKinnie is on the free agent market. He had a great year throwing the ball for me back in 2005. QB rating of 127. 1-1 for five yards. Got a TD though.

Yes. She has a couple of hams and I'd like to penetrate them.

Fortune has not made the most of his chances that is for sure, but there is competition for carries in Mendez and OP has had to toss the rock 40+ times in a couple of games that got out of hand.

FWIW he had a solid game today with 70+ all purpose yards and a crucial 16 yard carry late in the GREATEST MULE WIN EVER

Mules are now 1 and 8 all time against the VooDoo - go Mules!

Hariston had a bad day along with the Louisiana Kicker - missed two inside 40 yards in a tight game. Later in the game the VooDoo converted a 4th and 2 from the 34 or so only to have Hariston be picked a couple of plays later. But I will take the win anyways.

I move that Louisiana and I be able to merge, like the USFL. That shite loss to Houston is so big, if i hold on and win that game im only a game back, that was friggin ball breaker.

Is it too early for teams to get their bids in on Olin Holst?
